I have wraps and a cloak from previous versions of the festival, can they be upgraded with the current ingredients or do I need to start over and make new gear?

you can upgrade, but it will be a ingredient grind.

Yeah, I knew about the ingredient grind. Wasn't sure from that page if the old items could be upgraded though. Originally Posted by JOTMON

IMO Opinion, Giggles
IMO the Mimic Hunt was an easier grind for Mabar junk (giggles) than Night Revels.
Turbine listened to players and added the loot to the Nigh Revels event (hahaha got what you all wanted with more grind).
The upshot is that the Mimic Event will get new loot.
