    Default Melee Leech

I am a returning player after about 7 years of inactivity. There are so many new things in the game and it is practically impossible to find/learn all the new info. I would like to start a new character, which would be a sort of a melee character with leech abilities (healing itself for a % of damage dealt). Since I have lost track of all the abilities, could anyone be so kind to recommend me a general starting build and what should I aim for? Thank you.

I see only two ways to be healed on hitting
    1) Use vampiric weapon. Very low gain of hp
    2) be a barbarian, they have enhancement that heal them when they hit or when they kill

    3) ameliorating strike
    4) not quite the same, but SCEWL of Henshin tier 5
    6) monk Fists of Light

    Maybe others

OP--unbongwah and others have a request a build-get a build thread; have you considered posting there?

This is the simplest option, IMHO: make a barb using Vampiric Cleaver.

There's also warlock's Steal Life Force, though it's considered fairly weaksauce; and melee vampires, though that's a flavor build compared to wraith or lich builds.
