I imagine that no evil alignment stance is a product of alignment playing no role in DDO outside of class, and now subclass restrictions. Since that was the case restricting alignment was likely a pr. or marketing decision in original game design or a moralizing decision.
I have suggest adding a new tree for Favored Soul Blackguard. https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ree-Blackguard! Taking this tree and assassin rogue, Ninja spy, pale master, dark disciple clerics fiend pact, Or any warlock tree except enlightened spirit should require evil alignment. I think they would be good from a build design perspective and given how little roleplay or moralizing care there is in today's environment it could be a interesting addition to the game.

Percivaul Dusol, BadRandall and Shortpact--The Silver Legion
Because all of the Evil characters killed Jeets on the beach, then got killed by Celimas and ended their career right there.
A handful of others made it to Korthos but refused to help anyone, so died as Korthos was overrun and frozen.
A few more are still hanging out in the Harbor because they refuse to help anyone with their problems and cannot gain any XP.
From the '05 Beta when this came up... The Devs made the decision to disallow Evil because they wanted us to be the iconic, capital H, Heroes of thier world. We vanquish evil, exemplify heroic deeds, and are the ones who save the day. Evil characters are too often only focused on their own gain and their own ends. The '05 Devs wanted the players to be the altruistic and proverbial knights in shining armor who are always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
The DMs made a house rule, as all DMs do. In this case it was to make Evil verboten, and that's just the way it is. DMs have always had the power to house-rule as they see fit to make their campaigns suit their vision. DDO is heavily house ruled in nearly every aspect, and we the Players either go along with it or find another DM's game to play in.
TLDR: 'Cause the DM said so, and that's life.

It's a bad idea and a worse one for pnp
Beware the Sleepeater
Not always. Not on Eberron, anyways.
The Aerenal Elves are ruled by the Undying Council, a type of Undead called the Deathless. Unlike standard undead, they are not infused with the energies of Mabar, but rather by Irian, the plane of Positive Energy. The Aerenal capital and spiritual center is Shae Mordai, or in Common "City of the Dead". The whole city is built on a major font for Necrotic energy, and is the only place where Deathless can be raised. Now, in most settings - a City of the Dead whose very foundations are a fountainhead of Necromatic magic, where undead are raised to control the fates of the living would be Evil... but in Eberron, it's not always so cut and dry. Yes, they are undead. But, not evil at all.
In my Head Canon, I just consider Pale Masters to be offshoots of the Aerenal school of magic. Their undead are not necessarily Evil, nor are our heroes who summon them. Your mileage may vary.
They are a sub-type of Undead, technically. Still undead - just Positive as opposed to Negative.
Regardless of that - you said that disturbing the dead was evil, and any GM worth their salt would call it evil. Well, Aerenal elves disturb their dead all the time - and are not evil, nor are the products of their disturbances. It's kinda situational on Eberron, really.
