Chronic network issues

For some reason, at about 9 or 10 at night central time on Argonesson, I start getting a very weird network problem. The game starts to get more and more delayed, until eventually everything stops moving (except I can still run around usually) and after about a minute or two it catches back up, and then the cycle restarts about every 5 minutes. It is extremely frustrating, and I don't know what is causing it.

It always happens around the same time, and it's only DDO. I've gotten sick of it before and switched to different multiplayer games, and 0 network issues whatsoever. I've tried restarting my PC, redownloading DDO, restarting my router, and I don't know what else to do.

I've played this game a long time, and have not changed anything in my house (computer, internet, etc), and this started happening a few days ago. It's frustrating the hell out of me, please help!

EDIT: I made this thread while I was locked out of DOJ because I lagged out and I couldn't tell them. I got back, someone pulled necklace I want, put it up for roll, and no one wanted it, but I couldn't roll and get it because I was locked out at the beginning because of this lag. Awesome.

When does your Windows Update run its checking/validation?

I had this exact same problem begin 2 nights ago as well. That would be Wednesday at 9pm Eastern until about 11pm Eastern. Was guild raiding and everything would stop but I could still move, then it would catch up and happen again in about 5-10 minutes. Others reported the usual amount of lag, but not like what I was getting. Happened again when I played last night, around 5-6pm Eastern. It made banking very scary. Haven't played today, so not sure if it will continue. Glad to know I'm not the only one though.

I have had this happen to me a couple of time in the last week as week on the same server. I narrowed it down to network loss during the lag times. Frame rates and Connection was good. I was going to wait till I played again to see if it happened again before I tried to reset my modem, but others where reporting issues at the same time in my chat channel.

Exact same thing started happening to me on Sarlona. That little lag square at the top of the screen never turns yellow or red, and the ping speed that it reads is perfectly normal, but I start getting 20-30% loss, and I can't explain it.

I am also on Sarlona and have had this problem continue every time I log in over the last few days. I never had the network status displayed until I started having this problem. But I do now on all my characters and whenever I get this "lag" I also notice an increase from 0% loss to 20-30% loss while it is happening. I have reset my modem and it made no difference.

Not sure why this is happening, but I changed my dns from the Google public DNS last night back to my internet provider DNS and it seams to have fixed my issues for now. Will let you know if they start back up tonight.

Exact same problem happening to me and several others. Server: Cannith. No changes on my end at all; seems to be on DDO's side.

I just logged off due to the same problem. I've had this happen daily now on every character I play, all on Sarlona. I never changed anything and all of the sudden this started happening consistently. Multiple people reporting this problem across multiple servers. Seems to be widespread enough that it's not a problem with our individual systems.

So what's the deal Turbine? Can we get an official word on this, other than contact tech support?

Same here on Thelanis. Happens between about 9 and 10 pm EST. Latency loss up to about 25-30% for about 5 minutes, then clears up for a bit. This happens until I get frustrated and log out. Can play all day during the day fine, only happens during these times that I can see. No services running in the background on the computer and no internet problems other than in DDO. Started about a week ago. Please help fix this.
