Question Question about True Reincarnation going and Epic Reincarnations

    Hey everyone,

I have been gone from DDO for quite a while and a lot of updates and probably game changes have happened in those almost two years.

My main question is this....I have decided that I am going to go ahead and go for Completionist.

I currently have a 4th life Palemaster......I believe that is what it is called....I have leveled once normally and then TR'ed 3 times to get the maximum stacking bonuses.

Now I am curious as to how this ties into Epic levels.

This is the scenario I am painting in my head....I am going to finish leveling my PM up to 28 or whatever the maximum level is now in Epic then TR.

    1. Will I lose my Epic Experience levels or just have to redo levels 1-20 and then automatically jump back to 28 after I finish that?

    2. If I TR as say a FvS this time in my TR......when I go to Epic Reincarnate will I start in the Divine Sphere or will I still be in the Arcane Sphere where I left off...more to the point does the class you TR as have anything to do with where you will be in the destiny spheres.

    3. Will I get to redo Epic Quests from scratch.....raid flagging, first time bonuses, and do Epic adventure area counters reset?

What I am really curious as to is does the spot you start in a Destiny Sphere have to do with the class you TR as.......it seems so much more worth leveling a specific destiny as the class that is directly tied to it because the bonuses from it really boost that classes main strengths.

    Thanks for any help....happy hunting

    1. If you HTR at level 28 you will start at 1 (or 15 iconic) and loose epic levels but no ED xp or karma. You will have to level 1-28

    2. You can ER at 28 if you have 6mill karma in a sphere, you will loose epic levels and start at 20 (will have to rebuild like doing a lesser) You keep your ED xp and Karma in other spheres. So it is advisable to ER first and then HTR after to get both an epic and a heroic PL.
You unlock your first destiny when you hit 20 and talk to the fate spinner first time, you are then set in that destiny. To unlock other destinies you will have to level your destiny to 3 to unlock the adjacent ED's in that sphere. To unlock another sphere you will have to level a gate ED to level 4.

    3. HTR resets all these things, ER does not.
G-land, Balistas Magicas, Bashukar Bloodaxe, Kobur Curse of Dragon, Necromatix

    1. Yes, you lose your accrued epic experience.

    2. No, you'll be in the sphere you left off.

    3. Yes, all that is reset when you TR.

The optimal hamster wheel is to level to 28 (on a non-iconic race), epic reincarnate for the epic past life (back to 20) and then immediately true reincarnate back to 1 for the heroic past life.

PMs have gone from a top spec to a bottom spec, but you may have gathered that already. It's kind of a melee's world nowadays.

Ahhh...ok...thank you both for your answers.......am I also to gather that to HRT these days you have to max level in Epic as well...meaning do you have to go all the way to 28 before you can level 1-28 or is that dependent on whether you have start epic leveling yet.

So for instance I am level 25 now......

sounds like level to 28......ER.....and then I do NOT have to redo the 8 epic levels I can just HRT level 1-28...and from that point continue to HRT 1-28 for each class until I get completionist?

Haha.....well I have enough experience with this game to know that changes around a lot...I still want my end class/build to be a WZ/PM.....

trying to work on staying drow and making qstaff builds as I spent a lot of time making and acquiring things that revolved around that.

    Thanks for the warning though

RD2play explained it very well and there's also this pretty picture of the elaborate reincarnation bureaucracy: http://ddowiki.com/page/File:Reincar..._FlowGraph.jpg

It's possible for you to HTR at any point after you hit 20, just as before. But you might go to cap (and get 6 mill xp in a sphere, which I'm guessing you already have in Arcane) then ER (28 back to 20) for the epic past life and HR (20 to 1) for the heroic past life (so you consume two different hearts, one after another). At this point, you redo all 28 levels.... You repeat this process until you've won.

FWIW, the heroic xp was rescaled so that your heroic lives will go a lot faster than before (no quest repetition needed). And characters typically are overpowered these days, especially in heroic quests. Maybe you haven't heard about "Armor Up"..... the PRR and MRR mechanics have changed things a lot.

Cool....thanks for all the tips....I'll figure it out as I go. It seems like it has always been a matter of having to challenge yourself to keep the overpowered part from keeping the thrill alive.

I'm thinking going for completionist will help with that some as I will be out of my "comfort zone" a little.....leveling other classes.
