Considering they're Mabar items and it seems they're not planning on bringing any of the Mabar items back, I'd say it's more the below quote than the above.

So far only have seen Int and Wis. This could mean they will roll out two more stat augments for Mimic Fest and the remaining two for another event (new or existing)

am sure they aren't finished with the loot yet.

Some caster stuff and a sneakers wet dream (the broom)

    are the old cosmetics back?
Can we get the cloaks, wraps and robes back?
with the emphasis on (swf)bards, paladins, barbs, warlocks and (2wf) rangers lately, whats in it for them?
anything to beat or defend against undead or mabar related mobs?
    Any haloween/mabar related cosmetic items?

    Default Stats

A bit off topic, but I remember the devs doing away with "exceptional" bonuses on gear, with the intent of simplifying things for players, i.e. having just enhancement or insight bonuses to stats.

these recent updates have brought us determination bonuses, quality bonuses, and now spooky? bonuses. a ripe mess.
good job doing away with exceptional ^^

personally I'd rather see more creative loot effects over more things that give stats.

items like the Xachosian Eardweller, rock boots, windhowler bracers, token of the faithful, you get the picture. stuff that gives you useful things that don't necessarily fit the mold of "more power", but rather, different benefit.

these "not insightful" stat bonus augments are lazy, boring and most importantly, add more power creep.

So the augment is a standard +2 insight augment and doesn't stack with the current insight +2 aug.
or does the +2 stack also????

IF I understand correctly - it is a 'spooky' bonus - so should stack with anything other than other 'spooky' bonuses.

No one is there to help boost the spawn rate in the graveyard. I didn't buy draught to get increased drops from all undead. I will check tomorrow.

The only nice thing about these items being terrible is that I don't feel like I need to log on to use them.

I mean, who even wants these? Items which disappear in a month, clickies which are both meh as well as requiring swapping mid-battle (hey ogre, hold on a sec, I need to put on my pants).

Augments are nice, I'll grant, but I'll be damned (get it? get it?) if I'm wasting much effort on getting them.

Past mabars I haven't needed things on my main, so I've logged to alts because the gear was pretty nice. I can't even picture doing that this Mabar.

The only positive thing I have to say about this even is that it doesn't involve mimics.

Has a fan club. May still be a niche item. That's OK, niche groups should be supported -- generally speaking, with 13 classes, anything that supports only one class is a niche item, but we still want to make some occasionally. (Items shouldn't be all niche all the time, but it should be some niche some of the time. Getting more Smite Evil or Bard Song support from items is desirable, etc.)

Items that disappear at the end of the year? Why would anyone EVER waste their time getting those?
Because the time to get them is short.

The Hat of the Night Hag is probably the worst because they're actually expecting you to keep this thing on all the time.
That's an interesting theory of our intentions you have there.

At least most of the rest of the junk is swap-in stuff.
Swap item, you say? That have a minimum level of 1? Yes, that does describe this hat.

I have been known to cast spells outside of combat, sometimes not even at the start of a quest.

    ... and yes, it's a Witch's hat.

Still, i'm not sure i wouldn't like it better if they were just reasonably expensive normal potions. I guess it does make the items dupe proof to some degree.
Especially with being Exclusive, it means players can be done with the event when they have all they want. This is a thing that we don't consider bad. Players should not feel compelled to play events and only events while they are turned on, or farm for "next time". It's entirely OK to be finished with them.

Unless i'm reading it wrong, the item that creates 1-6 negative damage actually causes the enemy to produce this damage not yourself right? So it's sort of like a sideways version of boon of undeath, useful to help pale masters heal?
This targets allies. It is similar in many respects to Artificer weapon enchantments.

This is a special festival bonus type that stacks with Insight. It is not the same as Insight.

    The robe looks cool.

We are not too worried about making caster items that are at their best when you are not wearing Full Plate. It's fine for some things to support heavy armor casters, but it certainly doesn't need to be all (new) things.

While I appreciate the thought which may have gone into these items, I will however say I have a hard time imagining anyone I know (and I play with a fair number of new-to-the-game players as well as top-end players) having an interest in this. If the thought behind having something is to look cool, make it a cosmetic armor.

It's not just heavy armor classes using the clicky armors, even on a robe-wearing toon where the change-over is comparably fast, I have a hard time imagining switching my armor mid-battle to click on a buff, then switch back. The lag is bad enough in the game that I really don't trust being caught with my pants off, so as to speak.
