Default Breast Cancer Awareness Month & DDO

    Hi,

My guild on Khyber (Knights of Stonekeep) introduced last year an internal guild movement to use pink hair dye to show our support for this great cause in game during october, recently a close friend of my family died of breast cancer so this is a very poignant time for me.

I was wondering if DDO & Turbine would think about doing a free pink hair dye coupon for the store one of the weeks in october and encourage people to show their support and perhaps raise awareness? Or something along those lines?

Not sure if related to my thread but I'm guessing so, if so, thank you DDO team for this: October 2nd - 8th Free Sample is Petal Pink Hair Dye, Code: PNKDY

    This is great news.

It would have been nice if we got a light blue for September. Prostate cancer figures are comparable to those of breast cancer but it is no where near as supported.

Remember, folks, if you plan to donate for any breast cancer research that many of the "well known" charities donate very little, if hardly anything, to actual research. This includes the infamous PINK Ribbon and so forth. Don't be fooled and let your kind donations line the pockets of rich jerks!

Do your research first. There's a few that really do put most or all of their funds to actual meaningful research, and you can also donate straight to the NCI, the Government-based group that is thus accountable and transparent, if you so desire - http://www.cancer.gov/about-nci/overview/contributing#1

Donations are wonderful, but make sure they count.. Too many people have a loved one fall victim to the disease and they all make donations with great intentions that are essentially being thrown to the wind.. it's a shameful and pathetic practice that "charities" can operate in such a fashion, but best to be aware of it.

I'd rather give my seed to a church so God can save these poor people through His Grace.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but it sounds like a sexual innuendo.

In other news: Awesome! Free hairdye! I collect that stuff.

Though more awareness of breast cancer is not something I really want, it struck a way too close relative a couple years back and that nagging fear that it'll return is something I'd prefer to keep as suppressed as possible for the sake of my mental health.

Oooh, I see. It's one of those American things. That's not something we get this side of the atlantic pond. At worst they'll ask for 50€ and give you a "magnetic pillow" that helps cure your rheuma or something like that over here.

(more on topic) Or they'll keep asking for money to cure your breast cancer.

Thanks for this; just what we needed, more political **** in our fantasy game.

What's next, a free item asking people to vote for your presidential candidate?

Keep it out of the game.

    Empathy =/= politics.

    Thanks for the pink.

Which is exactly as efficacious as praying.

I'm going pink hair for this month at least. I've lost many family members to breast cancer and I appreciate the game recognizing this issue.

Political or not, a free hair dye is a better than average freebie, be happy and move on.
