I stopped playing DDO in like mid 2013 because I started playing other game. I came back to Thelanis. It seems pretty dead. Except maybe around 7-9PM EST because the two Harbor and Marketplace instances. We barely have anyone LFGs anymore, maybe 15 on a good day. No one talks in the general chat really. So I started looking on Sarlona, When I logged on they've had about 16-42 LFGs up. I would like people from those servers to tell me how the community is there and how active it actually is?

What Sgt Hart is trying to say is that Sarlona has a large {and I do mean large} Chinese population!

This maintains it's status as a strong server over-all BUT remember that there will be language issues!

It also means that Sarlona is probably the most populated Server between 8am and 2 PM GMT!

Like all servers it picks up in the late afternoon GMT though!

I played a toon through 20 on Thelanis last winter. I found the people to be really nice but like you I found the population to be low on Thelanis compared to Sarlona. I have not played on any other servers.

I've not played extensively on any other server, so I don't really have anything to compare Sarlona to. That said, I have been pleased with Sarlona for the several years that I have played there.

As mentioned previously, due to the Chinese population, the server is fairly active during off-peak Eastern US hours. That can present a language barrier when questing, but personally I always appreciated that barrier as it requires a different level of teamwork and coordination.

The pug scene is fairly active as well. There are usually at least a couple lfms within your level range and, if there aren't, people will usually join your lfm if you put one up.

Overall the server is fairly new player friendly. There is the help channel which does just what the name says. You will also find many people who are willing to help you out with gear and whatever else you may need if you are new to the game/server. There are also teaching raids from time to time and many pug raids are new player friendly, at least willing to explain what's going on. Both the TR grind and endgame are fairly active, so you find people playing at all levels. There are also some excellent players who are not elitists.

For the most part, people are generally friendly and helpful. Those who aren't tend to stick with each other. We do have a handful of, ahem, "eccentric" players, but you'll learn who they are quickly enough if you play on Sarlona for any length of time.

I second that as l run with pugs as well as players l group with on a regular basis and you will find both ways of questing good. I go through lives at a steady rate, though not as fast as some lol, and l have no trouble finding players to run with even if alot of my hours are when the chinese and european players are on of which we do have a large population of chinese players but apart from the language barrier you will find good groups.
