Would be nice if we could find actual spellbooks instead of loose scrolls.
Some of them could have additional benefits like +x to a school, an augment slot or +x to one of the skills involved with casting.
How about some pre inscribed spells?

My only criticism of this suggestion is that after your first character, you can get the vast majority of your spells by simply buying them in-game for plat. I usually go and buy what I need when I level, and it's relatively cheap to do.

Pretty sure orbs basically fulfill this function. After all, there is the Libram of Silver Magic.

I'd like it if they'd make a Boccob's Blessed Book, though. Make it a low-level orb that when you have it equipped you act as though you have spell inscription materials of whatever level. It'd be a silly thing, but it'd be an Old School item to bring to the game.

Also wanted: Quiver of Ehlona, Talisman of Zagy, Apparatus of Kwalish, Ring of Elemental Command, Decanter of Endless Water . . . if they're gonna do classic dungeons we need some old school items, even if the effects on them are the barest nods to PnP.
