Siegebreaker comes to mind for that. The moon theme fits in with the Sorrowdusk temple, but the portals not so much, unless we're talking about the mephits.

You are getting closer though. It opens an evil portal.... kind of. So this should narrow the quests down (might help if you think where is the portal from -and no, it's not shavarath)

Anyway, since I posted, how about one quest from that level 17 chain (reign of madness is it?) where you go deep within khyber? I've only run it once on a guest pass, so the guess is really far fetched.

There are portals that look like that in the ceilings of all the chambers in Prison of the Planes. The stonework, including cracks, is similar, too. From the color I'd guess the Dolurrh, Mabar or Xoriat rooms.

That room is a lot more detailed than I remembered. It's worth a good look.

Nope, not in Wheloon. Actually, he did not meet his untimely fate in Cormyr.

It's funny, this quest has several dead-ends in it (literally & figuratively), and it's easy to find other victims there in a similar fashion to the first poor fellow.

I've got no more good guesses with this one. I just gotta say though, providing a hint for a dead body surrounded by mystic runes with more dead bodies surrounded by mystic runes is pretty badass.
