Unfortunately, I came up the top during the day - but you can still see the beam of light in the picture, which I thought was really cool.

Hmmm, I am not sure - I don't see anything I can recognize. To me, it could be a number of places - Cerulean Hills, King's Forest, High Road - or any number of quests. Am I missing something?

P.S. It kinda of looks like the back side to House D, the path where you can climb up.

Reminds me of the Orchard Wilderness, in the woods on the opposite side of Inferno.
There are some areas in there where there is room to add new quest entrances.
The walls look a bit like that.

However I would have to rezone in to check out the trees there.

That looks like the area behind the first altar in the shroud. You can walk off the ledge to the far left side then down the hill. Problem is, you can't get back up.
