Unhappy Robes and outfits not the same?

So I've been getting really clever with my crafting and made myself a Proof Against Poison +4 Outfit of Spearblock II. So, I tried to make a similar Robe for my husband's character. I am using this tool [ http://cannith.cubicleninja.com/ ] to keep the Prefixes and Suffixes straight so I can get 2 nice things on the item for the level requested. I told my husband to find a robe he liked and mail it to me and I'd handle the rest.

Well, I prepped the robe and made the shards requested: Power I and Proof Against Poison +4, but when I put the Proof Against Poison on the Robe, it came out as a suffix and then I couldn't put anything else on it. It came out as a Prefix on my outfit, so why did it come out as suffix on his robe? Is this a glitch or a bug or a whoops or what?

The tool I use doesn't give separate stats for Robes and Outfits, just one for Clothing. I thought maybe Robes have a different crafting result, but then I found this list of shards [ http://ddowiki.com/page/Cannith_Crafting/Shard_Details ] where every shard is Either a Suffix or a Prefix. So how did my Proof Against Poison +4 suddenly go from prefix to suffix?

That is definitely odd. As far as the game is concerned, robes, outfits, and all kinds of armor from light to heavy are the same. I've begun crafting myself, and I haven't experienced anything like what you describe. Closest thing I got was that I had to clear the crafting tab after putting a suffix on an item before I could put a prefix on it.
Could you provide a screenshot of the item?

Talking OK, I'm going to try again.

I have no idea how I got it all confused, but I am going to try making this thing again. When I went to get screen shots from hubby's account, it showed Power II on the item with nothing else, and Power II is a suffix. I think I put the Power II on first and it wouldn't take it the Proof of Poison +4 after so I ended up putting the Proof of Poison on second and it wouldn't take it. I'm not sure what I did, to be honest, so I'm just going to start over. Thank you for asking for screen shots. It's forced me to go back and pay more attention lol

If you have an iphone, there is an excellent app for it that I use constantly.

A good suffix in the early levels is invulnerability. Crafting a set of goggles with Detect secret doors is also handy in the early levels.

    Thumbs up Craft Successful

So I got another Robe, made my unbound shards for Power II and Proof Against Poison +4, but this time I put the PAP on first and it went as a prefix. I think in the future, I'll just make certain to apply the prefix before applying the suffix.

Lots of shards are useful, but I don't have the skill to craft them all yet :P

Glad you got it to work

For future reference, there's a bug involving Proof Against Poison (possibly also Disease, not sure) that has the game read it as a suffix if you already have a suffix added to the item. Workaround is what you did, add PAP first and then add the suffix

Also, Invulnerability is a much more useful suffix to add than power (which you could add to several other items), effectively works as DR 5/- until L14ish, when Dragonscale becomes available. Just my 2 cents, it's what I use
