Default Put your $ where your mouth is!

Would you pay a one time fee of 50$, to help DDO become
    something better?

By far this , this is my favorite toy.

My toy needs a serious upgrade.

No because the game has gone to places I dont care for already. If they put out an expansion I am interested in and that I feel ils a real expansion I would pre-order it. But just to donate money to doing something not a chance because they wouldnt do what I would want done.

If it were something like a Kickstarter campaign where they listed out what they were planning on doing, I would. Maybe even substantially more money, depending. Things like:

    Cannith Crafting full revamp
polish run on old Eberron epics (making an epic version of sands/red fens explore areas, clean up the most useless loot a bit to bring it in line with other level 20 gear, institute 3:1 shard/seal/scroll swapping across all packs the way they did for Sands scrolls)
Epic Titan, Delera's and/or Threnal (Delera's greatest priority--there are no epics in House J at present. Add some House J epics and you can have a "house saga" where you hit the House quests) Epic versions of the Subterrene raids and the explore area. Epic Inspired Quarter. IQ saga.
Epic Harbinger of Madness and Reign of Madness and putting these in an epic and heroic saga with the other new Xoriat quests
Third trees for Arti, Druid, Favored Soul, Sorcerer
Clean up on Monk and Ranger
Epic Destiny that's a better fit for Arti
Revisit to Reaver's Refuge for cleanup
More advertising to boost population: "New and Improved DDO!"
Tie-in with the forthcoming movie, preferably new Iconic classes based on movie characters, maybe an adventure pack (it's set in the Forgotten Realms, after all)1
A solid attack on the Known Issues list
    Dragon Mountain classic dungeon
Slight changes to ETR with the level 30 cap
Make a bunch of the old low-level packs that aren't good candidates for future epics completely free to play (Sharn Syndicate, STK, Catacombs, Tangleroot, Sorrowdusk, maybe even Restless Isles)
Add a pack of PVP challenges/activities
Cleanup of LFM/quest log to make it more comprehensive and user-friendly

I'm hoping they plan to do most of that eventually, but I'd be delighted to throw some extra money their way if it could make it happen SOONER.

Not much in there for me except the attack on known issues. I don't like epic and my feelings on the realms are well known. So Nope not a dime from me, in fact one thing I am actively against the PvP thing

I would if I could afford to!

But there's no way I'm even going to see that amount of money beyond food bills, Tobacco and my monthly VIP for the foreseeable future!

I would have to see the plan of how the investment would be used.

I purchased the two expansions because they outlined aspects of the game that I thought were nice options. Not saying I was not disappointed in some of the expansion items, but overall I feel I got my monies worth.

The only way I'd save up and give them that money is if they were going to do the following:

    1. Remove the Forgotten Realms
    2. Roll back to before update 1 and rebuild the game according to the pnp rules

Otherwise no. They dont' have the good faith necessary for me to just throw money at them.

This is because the forums as always represent only the most vocal portion of the population. It is generally the two extreme sides, those that love it (get labeled as fanboi) or those that hate it.

To answer the OP, to blindly throw in money to something that has a skeptical track record is a kin to giving the homeless guy that smells of alcohol the exact 25$ he is asking for when he is standing in front of liquor store. Turbine is making plenty of money through the store and VIPs, if they weren't you would see talk of another expansion or more TP sales.

Well I don't think anyone hates the realms more than me since I could I would steal Stewie's time machine and leave Ed's proper ancestor on the shores of Krakatoa Aug, 27 1883 but even I don't expect them to remove the realms

I give them $60 every time they have a double TP sale. Plus my VIP subscription.

I am very satisified with the direction this game is going. They have done some amazing good work in the last year or two.

Pretty easy to give them money now if you want to.

Play less, use that time to get skills for a better job (or a first job, if you're a high-school or college student)

First of all that is what VIP money SHOULD have been invested in, not into undeserved big salaries for such half-hearted efforts.

    Red flags for me:

Officials on the job babbling how they only care about their favorite Turbine-offered-game anyway. They should be instant-fired for really being too idiotic to be unleashed unto customers.

Ogres serving as one 2015 example. ALL look the same, not even minor meddling with haircuts, hats or ANY kind of attempt which every DM who ever understood crudest basics of D&D has to handle every beeping weekend!!!

So you are not a pro and you are not a roleplayer, HOW then did the game end up in your hands? Rhetorical Question.

Nobody attuning adventures to classes. Sux, when one has to play solo AND what a great wisdom to tell people who temporarily find no group 'go play elsewhere or do some sports...' Is there anybody with any social skill or is treating customers like Grul Tribe Orcs really the best your bunch can muster? Rhetorical Question.

-> Basically one could start by taking a 'map' and making class-based variants. The martial one is full of fighting, the magical one full of spellslinging and dispelling (arcane trap disarm equivalent) and a 3rd one is where skills are needed extensively. That would at least be a minimalism of making all classes feel welcome.

A good team does supercede the need for it, but actually that means other players must compensate for official failures & neglects.

The memorial to the founder & mastermind of original D&D was a nice gesture.

    Bye.

FYI I'd been out of work for over half a decade before I ever even knew DDO existed!

There's reasons why your platitudes are of no use to me and many others!

I'll probably never work again! And I doubt I'll even reach retirement age! So give it a rest!

His comment was meant to be encouraging, biting back at him not called for, as it is never assumed that someone has disabilities or illness that prevents work.

The provoking comment was likewise out of line. Regardless of what or may or may not be "assumed", it was rude and fairly crass and got the exact response it deserved.
