Hey guys, good idea here. Starting on the half hour now, we all take a shot every ten minutes the servers are down. I figure after a while we won't care if the game is up or not.

ddo is not a p2w game it is made abundantly clear by the fact u can purchase everthing in the game simply by playing the game, if u pay VIP u do so at ur own volition but it still does not give you permission to grief the hard working people on forums, further complaining about its your money gives u a right to complain, u are wrong as they never forcefully took ur money, if u then complain about the law and how they are not providing a service for taking ur money, they are. U should be thankful they are not slapping u across the face as the service.

Entitlement is the process of giving people due supplied by their title, usually Not earned. Purchasing an item has nothing to do with entitlement. Receiving the DDO game by way of simply playing the game is given to you as a title, as through Favor titles, Not purchased. I, who pay for the game, offer my money in compensation for the developers work, appreciating them. It makes me angry about the ignorance of some people here, using the word entitlement incorrectly, slobs.

Some games do give compensation. Vindictus comes to mind. There are others if things go over. People are paying for 30 days with a standard downtime allowance. When exceeded the consumer is not getting what they paid for and has every right to complain. PLus, it's just common decency for a company to be good to their paying customers. I personally haven't tried playing yet today, losing interest in the game due to all the lag. Wish they'd fix that.

Wasn't that long ago. DDO was down unexpectedly and they did give out one time gift as comp. When you opened box, gave you list of extra special unique item. I opted for Balthazar, Protector of the king (rapier) or something like that.

I find it hilarious everyone complaining that some are looking for compensation.
I no longer am VIP due to loss of employment, tho I once was. But despite this not having me feel 'entitled' to some sort of compensation, the servers have essentially been down for almost 24 hours.
Personally I think that we should get some sort of a compensation. I have been on several games that have done things such as 'the first character that you log onto after the servers come back up will get a free [some decent item].
I mean hell just give us something like a Lesser Heart with a minor plus on it, maybe a +2 or 3. It's nothing huge, but it will show your player base that you do actually care.
It's the small things that go the farthest Turbine.

Wasn't that long ago. DDO was down unexpectedly and they did give out one time gift as comp. When you opened box, gave you list of extra special unique item. I opted for Balthazar, Protector of the king (rapier) or something like that.

That wasn't for downtime, that was for when they tried to split raid completions into heroic and epic but ended up braking raid completion tracking for a lot of toons.

Oh, and while it's down, maybe up the odds for epic seal/scroll/shard drops in all applicable quests? Thanks, been running LoD repeatedly since spring on Thelanis.....

meh When the games down I have about 50 other games I could go and play along with hundreds of books and shows I could sit and read or just relax and watch hell I have one that I listen to every Thursday and I about die every time :P I was VIP once personally it just lets you rent the packs so I just farm TP now days and get them so that way I don't have to worry about losing them at the end of the month

sure I miss the free 500 TP every month but hey I can get that in spades 4 times a week if I wanted to just grind Favor now days. anyway I was just poping in to see if there was a reason the servers are still down but looks like it may be a coding problem or something with the server ports though I'm no server tech so I got no clue....

anyway my show starts in about 5 hours and so I got time to kill and books to read...

P.S. if ya'll are complaining that VIP's got it made you kidding your self's if you read contact you will see what I mean.
