Exotic Weapon Issue

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. But I searched for the answer and couldn't find anything. I am a Human Fighter Lvl 3 and put my points on the Kensei tree, focusing on Heavy Blades, both on the base and 1st and 2nd tier, I also have Exotic Weapon Mastery which added the weapons under the Feats tab. But I am still suffering the -4 Attack Penalty.
I have Simple weapon, Martial weapon and 2 handed weapon proficiencies. My weapon focus is on Slashing weapons and the Bastard Sword, Dwarven Waraxe and others have been added to my list. I set the auction to only show level 1 to 3 and even a level 1 Bastard Sword had the Attack Penalty -4. I don't know what more to do. Any ideas?

You still have to take the bastard sword feat.

Lonn is correct. The Kensai part just allows those weapons to be used as kensai weapons, but you still have to take the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat for the weapon type. The kensai abilities do not provide you with proficiency in the weapon.

Ok, I understand that now, but I can't seem to find these. Forgive my ignorance but could you tell me where to find them? Also were the bonuses I added in that tree a waste?

When you get to level 4 as a fighter, you will get a bonus feat during the level up process. Scroll down to exotic weapon proficiency and select bastard sword.

Thanks very much, this was driving me nuts. I've learned to read what I'm doing much more carefully. Going back it even said it didn't grant the use of them. I didn't read that far, I just saw adds it to my list and stopped reading. lol
