    Default Heroic level rogue self-healing

    Hello everyone!

I'm thinking about creating a rogue, and was wondering what people are doing for self-healing in the heroic levels (before using Cocoon in epics). Is the rogue strategy UMD/hires/halfling racial tree for healing? Or is there something else?

    Thanks for any help.

yes--as you wrote! You can craft bodyfeeder of vampirism weapons also (if you have the crafting skills and mats) which would work fine given the DPS of rogues now.
You can craft a tier3 GS weapon (I suggest a short sword so monks can use it) with all levels of hamp (the third one will be redundant in epics) and create a shortcut with healing scrolls. The mechanic improved wand and scroll mastery will double the scroll effectiveness and the hamp will increase it further.

You could multi-class 4 cleric or Favored Soul for Ameliorating Strike: When you strike an enemy with Smite Foe, you and your nearby allies are healed by 1d2 per character level, and benefit from the effects of the Lesser Restoration spell. (The heal from Ameliorating Strike is affected by your Positive Spell Power)

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for.

I went this route on a barbarian (before the enhancement pass) and it does produce useful healing (particularly if you pay attention to getting positive spell power up) that works nicely in the middle of combat, but it is pretty expensive in APs and there are so many nice things in the TA and other rogue trees you'll want all the APs you can get.

I am currently on a halfling TA using dragonmarks, and I think that is a much better synergy. You can stay pure rogue, and halfling tree can add extra sneak damage and extra dex (for a dex build) and the dragonmarks give you strong heals.

    Step 1. Farm MRs.
    Step 2. Get cloak(s)/bracer(s).
Step 3. Get & use collectable HoT potions.
    Step 4. ???
    Step 5. Profit.

When I ran a rogue mechanic, my healing was mostly just the occasional heal scroll. With UMD, wand/scroll mastery, and some heal amp one heal scroll is almost a full heal. Heal scrolls also take care of almost all conditions (except cursed and negative levels, you need to carry remove curse pots and restoration scrolls for that). Also I'd carry a few of the collectible potions at level 10 and 15 (the ones you turn in collectables for) and even a few curse serious pots. That was generally enough to get by the 13-20 levels, after which cocoon became my mainstay.

Dragonmarks work well as well, if you go halfling and have the feats for it (never said if mech/acrobat/assassin). Both of my assassin lives used it and was even handy in epics

Play style is the #1 factor in determining how much healing you need. Stealth and agro management both increase your DPS and can reduce your damage taken to almost zero. Even without stealth, agro can be managed to drastically reduce your healing needs and increase overall damage.

You don't need to sacrifice character build points or use sub-par DPS weapons to stay alive in heroics. You don't need to sacrifice feats. Feel free to experiment with these things for fun, but (IMO) they are all sub-optimal builds if you are looking for the best overall build.

A stack of cure serious guild pots from house K can get you a long way through heroics. Some people swear by the Silver Flame healing potions, but I have never used or needed them. Scroll healing is recommended whenever you can get your UMD high enough. Putting your heal scroll on the same hotbar with your +10/20/30 shroud item is a great tip.

AFAIK "Wand and Scroll Mastery" (tier2 mechanic) makes healing pots better too. With some healing amp from the human tree, paladin past lives and items a cure serious pot can heal you for 100 HP.

Going halfling (the girls don't look that awkward than the boys and TR let you change the gender) isn't a bad option either. The sneak attack enhancements in halfling are only one AP each (SA in the rogue trees cost 2 AP) and the saved AP can be spend on the dragonmark. The DEX bonus helps with the twf/ip feats.
