    Default Why Not

    Hi,

I'm still thinking about my Arti not performing well.

Main sugegstion were about pure rogue, 18 rogue / arti or pally 14 / rogue 6

I do not like so much going 14 level of paladin just for a spell (for my dps purpose, many already explained me all the other benefits about self heal and damage reduction, etc...), ok his contribution is really very high but it do not really satisfy me. Paladin from legends never used a crossbow !!

What about something with at least

2 Artificer levels for rune arms
5 Rogue for T5 mechanic enanchements
5 fighter for T5 Kensei Keen enanchement, so to compensate partially the lack of holy sword

At the moment should be like

    1) you can only take 1 tier 5 enchantment
2)You don't have enough enchantment points to take that much trees.

Also you are skipping over all the free stuff paladin offers, such as heals for days, self buffs, and paladin enchantments, while leveling.

Seriously. Divine Favor adds up to +3 damage(+1 every 3 levels, caps at level 9).
Splashing in Knight of the Chalice is not that bad too, since it gives tons of damage for relatively cheap, and is excellent at lower levels. Slayer of Evil giving dice of light damage, Rally giving extra 60 seconds of +3 damage for whole party (3 minute cool down tho), and giving the +30 melee/ranged power boost. Also greater restoration, and healing amp if you splash deeper in the tree.

Both paladins survivability, healing, saves and damage are better than fighter.

Maybe if you respec bladeforged to fighter, you get similar benefits with reconstruct and stuff, and if you are able use Weapon Meditation/Spiritual Bond somewhat successfully?

    For comparison see

I Prefer repeaters(since I don't have a good Great crossbow), so I invest in KoC tree, and take less dobleshoot, but otherwise is like that.

Lore vise I have read about tons of paladins using guns, or crossbows, taught they have mostly been vampire hunter paladins. Van Helsing, for example.

I would advise to do 18 rogue, 2 artificer instead, unless yo u really want fighter past life or something.

You just decresed my Ddo Ignorance level

And thanks also for VanHelsing hint. Yes, vampire hunters can be a good example of Xbow Paladins
