Ki regen question

I have enlightenment from GMOF for +1 Ki regen and Grand Master of Forms in ocean stance for +1 Ki regen.

Should my Ki bar show +2 while it is doing its regen thing? I only ever see +1.

hi Redoubt, it should! I have the same setup (just Master of Forms anyway but same twist) and it gives +2. I will recheck for you next time I log in.
Ki recovery changes in relationship to total ki, concentratiom score etc but those two bonuses should always register AFAIK.

depends largely on your concentration.

The rate at how much you gain or lose ki is determined by your Concentration. If your ki is equal to or less than your Concentration skill, it does not decay. For each multiple of your Concentration skill that it exceeds it by, you receive -1 ki for every 6 seconds. If your Concentration score is zero or negative, it's treated as if it were 1, which makes retaining ki difficult. Your stable ki level, where you will no longer lose ki, is equal to your Concentration score.

it does, but the +/- in the parenthesis goes by total mod, thus if you have a low concentration thus giving you a penalty (Say where it gives a -1) if you then gain a passive ki regen of +1, then where it was a -1 its now a 0. Then if you gain another, it'd be a(+1) until it equals 2x your concentration (for +2 passive regen), at your concentration or higher it'd be a +1, and below it'd be a +2

I'm pushing the envelope a bit on a moncher and using the epic quiver of alacrity which has -50 concentration on it. While wearing it I have a 18 concentration.

Per the numbers given I would have a static 18 Ki. My regen is bringing me up to 36 but at only a +1 rate. I assume that my modified concentration is so low that I get a -1 to regen and thus am only getting a +1 from 18 up to 36.

For info, so far I'm getting back to 20 for 10k stars fast enough that I've not missed the higher concentration. Though, I just hit 20 and have only run the sentinals chain on EH so far.

Interesting! I hadn't imagined the concentration hit so hard!
I tested things yesterday and always had a +2 ki regen with my natural state topping off at 50 ki. I dumped things to 0 and it built up at +1 without ocean stance and changed to +2 in ocean (this is with Enlightenment twisted).
I thought maybe you had not taken tier 3 of enlightenment, since the first two tiers do not offer the passive ki regen.

Anyway, looks like that quiver comes with some costs.

Yeah, i'll use the quiver until 23 then use Pinion and a quiver of poison. That will give me back a twist and 9 action points I spent on concentration. Its a weird build anyway so I thought I'd try it. 6 monk/6 ranger/8 cleric...
