Lightbulb It is not that I do not like to put powerful items!

Some of the new powers of items presented in Lamannia are very interesting ... however I think I'd feel better with bonus per set's applied to items such as:
For monk sets the bonus of ki+3->http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Visions_of_Precision
For Druids sets the bonus Druidic Survival Mastery->http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Hide_of...len_(level_28)

And please change a bit the bonus sets that are currently applied only on weapons and armor, as not fun trying to fit multiple bonus set at the end all rely on weapons.

For set bonuses I would expect a different stacking bonus or a untyped bonus that you can only get from wearing the set,
but it has to be good enough to justify having to work around it.

Generally I am not a fan of set bonuses at endgame level range.. it is the kind of stuff I would like to see at mid level ranges..
by endgame I want every item I have to fit my build the way I want, not adapt my build to suit a set.

The unfortunate reality is sets are a pita and will never make everyone happy unless they can be customizable.
Eveningstar sets screwed WF then some halfassed retrofit was done with docents that never worked well.
Many of those sets just never worked for the majority of players.. fortunately there were enough individual decent items to still have them useful.

For instance I have an evasion cleric/rogue/monk.. but the evenings star set for healers was armor..
Wizard set had the robe.. so you could not wear armor for that set bonus..

If set bonuses are going to come around again, I would rather see them in the Greensteel format where you can craft what you want where you want from a million combinations and then get a bonus by equipping more than one that requires some other upgrade (like cleansing stones on 20th incremental reward lists)..
This way no matter what your personal unique custom build is you can craft a viable set that has usefulness and not pigeon-hole players into sets that force sterotypes.

At higher levels I want to see more customizability to suit whatever my build is, not force me to build into the set.
I would rather the game stick with augments and wide range of decent items until I can craft Epic Greensteels for endgame.. or melt down Mystical remnants to get customizable Epic greensteel style gear with quality crafting bonuses that I can use during Epic levels (lets say level 26+) through endgame so I can ER/TR and use this gear like I use greensteel for heroic levels.

I hate set bonus's... Why? Because ultimately a "new" item comes out that would be better in X or Y slot.. but then putting that item in that slot screw up your set bonus.. and then the other 1 or 2 items that were part of the set, are suddenly not as good as well, because with the set.. they suck.

So I would prefer, no set bonus's.. ever.

Set bonuses in DDO generally suck because they have zero flexibility in attaining them... Unlike games that made set bonuses amazing like Diablo II, DDO loot it 100% static. In Diablo you could find an item when completed the set bonus that ALSO had affixes that worked for you, and if over time you needed something different you could get a set item that had a different affix that you needed... A helm could start out as a dodge item with gloves that were a HP item and completed a nice set bonus but you could loot gloves with the same set bonus that were an SP item and a Helm that was a alacrity item...

Flexibility... and infinite variety... Sadly not something seemingly appreciated by the type of player who plays DDO... In DDO it seems players want the quickest rout to being able to log off until the next update and not play for months and Turbine is obliging them.

Set bonuses in a lot of games is one of those decisions where you have to weigh up unique, usually powerful bonuses against the restriction of it eating gear slots. It's a mechanic that's been present since those mid 90's graphic RPG's.

I think such a thing works perfectly if you are struggle with the decision, think that was the intent.

Be nice if DDO had more set bonuses that went beyond the ToD/necro4 concept. Something you could build up, even over packs. But the bonuses should be unique and the power reflect on how hard or long it takes to acquire.
