Arguing with my daughter tonight about why I make her eat her vegetables but don't make Grandpa eat his. I ended the argument by saying "he doesn't have to eat his veggies because he's too big to spank!" She ate her veggies pouting the whole time. Meanwhile my hubby kept giving me a shocked wide-eyed "look" over the dinner table or making a spanking motion when no one was looking... resulting in me laughing so much I nearly choked... twice.

Welp, the ol' Beer'virus strikes again.

Daughter had a Special Olympics state bowling tournament in St. Charles (near St. Louis) weekend after next. Got the date and day pegged in last Tuesday, wife and I both got the days/nights off w***, I got online booked a hotel room... saved $20 pre-paying a nonrefundable booking. I *never* book non-refundable... *grumble-at-self*

Yesterday (Tues) at her practice, coach gathered everyone around and gave us the news - tournament canceled on account of threat of beer'virus infection.

Edit: Well after almost an hour of arguing my way thru computer AIs, cut-off calls, etc, I finally got thru to a human who took down the event info, confirmed it thru the local property, then granted a refunded cancellation.


Learning experience for me. Still sucky experience for all the kids and special needs folks who don't get their tournament.
