That is a hard one.

In my experience I had to find other things to keep me occupied, and my mind off my ex. It was always best for me if I absented myself from circles we both frequented as much as possible. Difficult to do if we had many friends/interests in common.

That's as good an answer as any of us can probably come up with.

The only thing I can add from the other side of several decades is that in hindsight, the ones that go away just make room for the one who eventually is the right one. (My Dear Abby'ism for the day )

Sorry I’ve been absent...
Been busy with the Gym. W*** and family stuff.

But I do have great news!

My younger son “Tugar” graduated his school in the Army

He is now a fully certified Medical Lab Tech!

And I now have my second grand-baby!

Hardcore certainly makes ya stop and think a bit now & then. Luckily, I had my thoughts before i totally fuber'd. I had all my XP pots & such from ex-pac openings on my character til late level 3, forgetting that I'd lose access to them if I had died.

Watching hubby on Hardcore League is stressful. He plays like he's far too used to my cleric keeping him alive while he takes everything on like he's invincible. He just doesn't pay attention to his HP bar hardly at all. I'm so glad I didn't agree to run it with him. I'd have new gray hairs already to go with the ones the kids give me.

Being a glutton for punishment, I'm actually working up the CC crafting levels on my Arty. Currently about 150, and has been an eye opener for what truly new people face when trying to do anything with that system. But when she dies, that's gonna sting. Lol.

Every. Single. Day. Every time I log in, or today even thought about logging in to game - another dang thunderstorm rolls in within hours. Radar was clear a bit ago, now I can hear thunder in the distance as I'm typing this. gah. Power loss in the middle of a fight would be a horrible way to die.

Nope I'm not Aelwing. Hubby tried very hard to convince me to join him for Hardcore but my argument still holds... I'd be too stressed, anxious, and upset when things go pear shaped to have fun. I don't laugh when my character dies even when its not permadeath - I gnash my teeth. I just don't have the mindset that would enjoy this particular flavor of challenge. So why make me go through that, and pay for the privilege? So far he accepts my reasoning.

Hubby's first character that died last night was Baine Carnage (created before he knew only the first name is announced on death). Now he's been thinking of names that will be funny when announced such as Death has claimed another "SliceOPizza" or "GreatActor" although that second one is dark humor.

Just don't quest with your crafter. Let other alts bring loot to be deconned.

Yeah, I do that well in Hobbitland, but not so much here.

That incap in STK, went to -12. I almost didn't take those enhancements to extend incap, but if I hadn't....

I don't think hubby is going to get very far on the HC server. He just doesn't have the patience. I mean recently he got this one character very easily through most of Korthos on elite, solo, and then he ran out of ammo (was some variation of Inquisitor) in the big room of Misery's Peak where you see the dragon beneath you in the ice and instead of calling it a night and coming back to it the next day with more ammo... he essentially committed character suicide by aggro-ing the whole room and attempting to fight it fisticuffs style. What the heck?! Sometimes I just don't understand him.

I can tell though that he is heartily sick of Korthos already. Maybe that was his frame of mind.

He should have had the warforged barbarian (Bryn Scoutsword I think)with him. That hireling can pretty much solo the whole chain on elite. He is the true savior of Korthos ;P

That said, I haven't tested, but there is a T1 Inquisitive enhancement that basically gives conjure bolts. I've only done inquisitor on rogue/arti splits thus far, so I don't know how it works without a SP pool. Probably doesn't.

I've never been to that point, though I came close after my wife passed. A good friend kept me from getting there. I'm hopeful you have someone to help you thru.
