Speaking as a nerd lady, I always hung out in libraries, bookstores, gaming stores, and when they were a thing video rental stores... You can try at least three of those. Oh and Renaissance/Fantasy fairs, which is where I met my hubby so definitely that too.

** edit: Tho now that's it's almost illegal (and employment risky at the least) to even ask a girl out at work now, I'd probably not recommend that method any more. Shame tho, as it was the highest percentage of "where did you meet" marriage answers for decades.

I'm glad I grew up in 80's, people are getting ridiculously twitchy now like looking at someone wrong when you're just staring off in space thinking can get you in trouble because everyone's all primed to be offended about something. And goodness help you if you're not paying attention and you absent-mindedly say "uh-huh" to the wrong thing. Its no wonder everyone's on their phones all the time; it the safest thing to be looking at, speaking to, or touching.

US is a bit far for me DB.
In my youth girls didn't play role-playing games that much, but some girls from one political party used to hang around our rpg-group and date the boys. I'd recommend roleplaying games as a good way to actually get to know people.

I am going to my first LARP this summer, and I hope that in the nordic larp community there might be someone for me. My first character's both romantic interests are played by men, which is probably for the best at the moment.

Cheapo Wal-Mart Helium tank. Even with that many balloons, the lift was seriously lacking.
Next year, buying a weather balloon and some extra fusing.

Got one of those phishing scam calls today where they say there are "many infraction against you SSN, blah blah...".

The name they used for their 'legal firm' was SSG Group.

I've never had to go on an unplanned, spontaneous car trip with the kids before. I thought getting them ready for church was a challenge. But sometimes you get one of those calls where you have to drop everything, hopefully toss everything you need in the car, and go where you are needed post haste.

Lessons I took from this weekend... don't put off restocking the car first aid kit, and pull over to a restroom asap even if you stopped fifteen minutes ago at a restroom.
