Someone used the pic I had in mind for the Stormreaver right away so no reason to duplicate. For Korthos I was going to try to get an image with my daughter, if I can get her to cooperate, it is after all her village or so she tells me.

Too obscure for me. Or maybe its something I've completely forgotten. There were a great many classics that I really didn't care for.

Last night I talked my hubby into helping me run Crystal Cove on my daughter's character just long enough to get her the base buckler and spyglass for her bard. it only took 3 gem runs so we had it done in less than half an hour. During the short wait time on the ship someone commented on my daughter's mimic pet. She named it PiranhaMimicBox. She did the typing with me calling out letters... I think its slightly misspelled but no big deal. Anyway, I said it was my kid's character and I was running it because it was a school night. The person said they would love a parent that would do that for them.

Made me think... is it so strange for gamers especially PnP players to introduce their kids to games and game with them?

Made me think... is it so strange for gamers especially PnP players to introduce their kids to games and game with them?

Maybe somewhat these days. I had asked a pondering question along those lines in one of the See Who threads. I had basically asked how many of the early pix of folks with their kids there were where the kids were playing now. Never got any replies.

Now back in my playing days, one of my gaming group had a separate family game night where his dad would DM for them. Always thought that was really cool and had had plans to do that myself when I had a family - but life somehow managed to push me past that.

Just in the past week or so, I have finally managed to get the wife and our boy together in LOTRO for some play time. She's never played MMOs before, so has been a slow start. All the more time to sniff flowers along the way, tho.

edit: figured it out. i'm kinda pleased with myself. buddy took two and a half days, i'm already done :P

Good morning all.

Just in the past week or so, I have finally managed to get the wife and our boy together in LOTRO for some play time. She's never played MMOs before, so has been a slow start. All the more time to sniff flowers along the way, tho.

Well that's nice, I hope you have fun together. Our son has played PnP with us a handful of times, we simplified his character sheet but otherwise he was reading and following along okay. He started with a ranger but the second time we made him go barbarian because that's how he plays... no tactics, not much thinking things through just CHARGE! and havoc. When possible I try to impress upon him the advantages of forethought and planning but... well... its not working yet.

Thank you. After some discussion with my hubby, I decided to give my winnings to my son's account so he can grab a new adventure pack next time they go on sale. We'll get our daughter more quests when she shows more interest in questing. As of right now the only thing she would be excited about is getting new races because she loves the character creation interface, mostly the character appearance screen.
