For me the hardest part of being grownup (or middle aged) is to accept the fact that there is no authority to rely on with most small problems and decisions of life.
Sometimes I am at loss with a problem, and later find out that the best authority with that problem is me. The adults seemed so wise when I was a kid.

i've made no progress on my stories. i started editing one, then just left it halfway done.
i need to finish them. I literally just need to edit them.
the contract is signed. they will be published.

but i can't bring myself to do it. i don't know why, but i just can't.

i'm terrified.
i'm disgusted.

i hate my work. i think it's utter trash. i'm ashamed of it.

On the plus side I have finally managed to not have to take kids to the Dr office for long enough I've accumulated enough vacation time I could take a week off if I wanted to.

but I'm to broke to go anywhere so there is that ;P

Well that aside I'm pretty happy, I'm feeling all better and I don't have to take the medicine with 10 pages of side effects, contradictions and preclusions any longer. You know there is something wrong with the FDA when the medicine sounds worse than the original issue.

Thank you. It was just chronic bronchitis but when the medicine says NO coffee, NO dairy, NO sunlight, may cause tearing of the tendons, may affect mood if taken with an NSAID, and various other more serious things you start to wonder if it wouldn't be better to just keep coughing.

I'm so fair skinned I already shun the sun but I really, really missed my coffee. ;p

Is amusing when those ads come on TV and they take almost as long to list off the "May also cause..." stuff as they do promoting their chemical -- especially when it finishes off with, "...and sometimes fatal."

*shakes head* No kidding. What really bothers me are the the class action lawsuit commercials which show up about 3-6 months after the pharmaceutical commercials. Its as if no one is recognizing the pattern.

won't even get time for lunch tomorrow with all the stuff i need to do :\

have a paper due by saturday, a midterm on friday, 4 back to back classes tomorrow that cover lunch, and a write up. fortunately i just finished another assignment. ugh.

on top of this i have personal work which i need to push myself into finishing.
