LOTRO side, yesterday:
So, I'm running back into some lower level areas to finish up some Deeds I skipped. I'm 105, the area mobs are 70ish. All well down in the one-shot-to-killum gray-name zone.

I'm running through, firing up a pack of Dun Crows when all of a sudden I find myself going from happy frolicking Dorf to dead Dorf. Full stop, one-shotted, d.e.a.d. Dead.


At first, I'm thinking I got hit by some wandering Roving Threat that snuck up on me, but was nothing around me but gray birds. I took a second look at the crow I had just shot - who WAS still flapping merrily right where I'd targeted it at. Hmmm. "90% damage Negation, 90% Damage Reflection. Then I checked the combat log. "Devastating Critical." Little over 20,000 points of damage - to MYSELF! ...plus some extra cuz I had fired off a 3-arrow Swift Shot.

Good afternoon all. I loved this Cd, but of course I'm a Next Gen trekkie. I would argue that Klingons represent an unholy union of dwarves and orcs because they more or less have the societal mores of dwarves but lets be honest the tempermant and visage is more orcish. And I can say that because I was never afraid of Worf... okay I'd be afraid of the Duras sisters though.

speaking of ouchies, my laptop's motherboard conked out the day before. called Dell support that night, they said it would take 2-3 days for a technician to come. since i was coming home on friday, took wednesday and thursday off as well and came home. (can't do much work without the laptop anyways.)

tech arrives today, tries to open it up, decides to call a senior tech, since the junior wasn't sure how to work on it. (a sentiment i appreciated, as if he messed it up, it would take even longer to fix.)

senior tech should come tomorrow.

the ouchie, though? i checked the price of the motherboard. about 835 USD. yikes. thank goodness for warranty
