Y'all may have seen a news snippet a couple months back about a data breach at Wendy's. Well, I was well within the at-risk group.

Yesterday, I got the call from the Fraud Squad asking me whether I had just tried purchasing $100+ here, or $100+ there... No, and no, etc. Logged onto my checking account, and saw a list of bogus pending charges, including $5.00 from a frikkin Coke machine!

So get to kick my Friday off at the credit union sorting bogus charges. heh.

    Sooo.... Trade?
Nope; no fair! That's not a sad... That's a mad.
Geez dude; I'm so sorry. You can't catch a break lately.

Yeah, they had already flagged my account for increased attention because of my Wendy's charges over the previous months, so will be a quick and relatively painless fix. Will have the money back by Tuesday, and a new card sometime next week.

The account manager I was talking to said I was the 7th person just he had dealt with over this in past couple weeks. Interesting tidbit, every single one of the fraudulent cases had the same charge of a $1.00 Coke, like from a vending machine that takes CCs. Would think that would help the cops narrow down the perps, but he said they didn't really seem interested in following up on that. Go figure.

Agreed, is more of a *mad* than a *sad*, but *sad* cuz I have no one to vent my *mad* at.

It did. Took ex some lunch so we could go sit in the park near her work with the hungry squirrels and birds.

Last week, there was a lost parakeet in the bird mob. This week, just a spare cardinal. Had one gray bird (Northern Mockingbird, I think) with a gimped wing join us on the table we were at to munch cracker crumbs.

(Maybe one of these Fridays I'll take a bag of cheap McD-burgers for all the homeless bums hanging around the park, too.)

I'll top you both and gladly take all your sads in exchange for mine.....

My daughter has just been discovered to have drug, alcohol addictions, has had 2 pregnancy scares this year and has major withdrawal and anger issues atm along with suicidal thoughts as well as running away twice this last week. Having to call the police to get them to lay a trap and intercept your 15yr old daughter and get her taken to mental health services for intervention is not in the top most enjoyable parenting exercises to do.
My house is a war zone with all the damage she has caused these last 2 days and we have to call the police every time she goes into a rage. Last night she cracked the windscreen to our car making it undriveable now.

It's been kept hidden from everyone for so long and the only reason this was finally discovered was I forcibly removed her cell phone and hacked into it by breaking the phone lock and read every facebook, txt, snapchat etc.. message and looked at every photo. It totally broke me seeing what was on it and the lies that have been spread around trying to drive everyone against each other (which was working btw..). Because of my actions I am now under investigation for child abuse and spent 1 hour yesterday answering questions. My child however has received no help at all leaving us to deal with all the issues. All I have in defence is 1 weeks worth of phone calls desperately asking for help for my daughter. It's my hope now that i'm under investigation someone will finally respond with help for her.

Anyways... thats my sadness story, top that

My back hurts majorly from been stabbed so badly in the back these last few days but I'm ok, My wife however is not ok as she has born the brunt of the lies for so long and had bought into them (had been funding the drug habit without been aware of it as well). The light is shining on the issues now so it can only get better in the long run. Small steps each day and it will eventually turn for the better.

Just needed to get this out as keeping it in is not good so sorry for the bummer news but well.. hell, no not really some things just need to be out there.

Teenage girls are hard to deal with in this day and age. I am becoming more and more of an advocate of the "until they can pay for it themselves, they aren't mature enough to have a cell phone" camp. I'm listening to my kids and the trials of their kids with cell phones. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with that issue when our kids were teens.

Now I will add to the sad...

I'll try to make a long story short...

Thursday we had to call vet for Cocoa and it sounded basically over heating so give him two cans of Guinness a day for a week and clip him. So Missing took me out to drop off the beer and I did a partial clip. Cocoa hadn't ate or drank all day.

Friday I went out at 9am and finished clipping him. He was wobbly on his feet and had laid down the night before and still hadn't ate or drank hardly anything. While I cleaned up the hair and clippers I put Cocoa in the stall so he could eat if he wanted. By the time I was done he had laid down. he was flat out. I finally ended up calling the vet because his breathing was so labored (he even had two fans on him). Took a few hours but they finally sent someone out.

He could barely walk once we got him up and the vet diagnose laminitis. It's where the coffin bone in the hoof rotates some and causes inflammation and pain (I think that's the proper explanation of it). Went ahead and put a catheter in his neck to IV fluids and antibiotics into him since the vet wasn't sure if he had an infection or not. The one he was suspect of is potomic horse fever which is a killer if you don't' treat asap.

Missing came and picked me up that night and we left Cocoa still breathing hard and laying down. We found out from the vet that laying down is actually good because it takes the pressure off when they are laminitic.

Saturday, Missing takes me to the vet clinic to pick up the IV bags of antibiotics for the next few days. We get to the barn and I realize I forgot vet wrap and I need guaze since what I was supposed to reuse was hanging out of the bandage that is supposed to keep the catheter all nice. So we make a runto get that stuff and on the way back we get a metal on metal sound with the Jeep.

Once back at the barn David gets the Jeep set up to be towed back to where we bought it while I IV Cocoa. Once I was done I put him back in his stall because he was so wobbly. We had to get him up on his feet to even get out of the stall again. He laid back down after he ate a little but he was looking brighter in his face just his legs and feet weren't so good yet.

I get a call from Barb later that night and Cocoa is doing good enough that he's eating and drinking and ****ing. We were really happy about the ****ing (he did once while I was there int he morning too) since it meant his digestive system is working.

Sunday, Cocoa is looking good and up on his feet when I got there. He had been laying down when Barb came in to feed but he got up when she did. He chomped down his hay and grain and drank. However, when I went to do the IV he had broken his catheter during the night. So we had to remove it. Then we put him outside in a small pen for a while since he could walk some and was steady on his feet. Plus he was acting like he wanted out for a bit.

Today I called the vet and ended up telling them not to worry about the catheter since he's doing so well. This was after I finally talked to Barb. So it looks like he'll make a full recovery. I just hope the up coming heat won't set him back at all.

He sees the vet for a check up tomorrow which was already planned. I suspect we will ask some more questions and he'll get an all clear for now.

So the sad has ended up happy at least.

Thank you. We were worried about all of the laying down too.

Sadly, have done much of the same myself these last few months. We, however caught on a bit earlier to head off the drugs, alcohol and pregnancy scares, but still had to fight like H*** to get my daughter help. I fought insurance companies, I fought schools, I fought her. The Good news (or silver lining) is that when you do get the services she requires, it can get better and they are kids, they can recover faster then any of us can expect. For us it was finding the right therapist, a good psychiatrist to manage medications, school support etc. It's a team effort.

Mothers and Daughters have a special bond, it makes them love each other so deeply, they want to kill each other. More then once I had to step in to break up physical altercations between my daughter and wife. Not fun times.

But today, we went out to lunch. She wore shorts [which means she isn't cutting anymore], she bought some jewelry at the mall and had a pleasant time.

It takes work, but it can get better. Thankfully, I've never been accused of child abuse, but don't think my daughter didn't threaten it more then once.

    Hang in there.

Dang... no kidding. As you are a beginner I'm impressed. (not something I say often.)

I hope you can find a way you can stick with mini painting as you seem to have a good eye for it.
