Got word that Bek & fam will be passing back by the Midwest a few days later than originally planned. I'm thinking he figured out the Grand Canyon takes a few days to see.

Also means a few extra days of me minding the Tavern til he gets back.

enjoying singapore so far.
went and bought some electronics at simlim, including a razer kraken mobile headset at a sweet discount.
also picked up a USB Micro B to USB type C connector for my hard drive to my laptop, and read speeds are so much faster now.

just found, from a mobile ad of all places, that there's going to be an anime and manga expo while i'm here. pretty lucky!

Well, was typing out a paragraph about the thief I busted out while a cop was standing near him - who then got a free ride to jail for a warrant he had on him. Was stealing cheese sticks.


But got interrupted by a storm's gust front blasting thru. Killed our power a second, and dropped limbs around the neighborhood - including across my neighbor's truck and front porch.

So odds are folks, at least one or two people are having a worse morning than y'all.

I am most definitely amused and agree with a lot of the lack of function stuff.

Light armor in GW2 is definitely bedroom wear for the most part...I loved that he said the character was looking for her MRS degree.

it's funny how life introduces you to things sometimes.

went for the C3 Chara Expo today. It's this event in Singapore for anime and such. found out about it through a mobile ad on one of my mobile games.

at the end of the booklet, there was an offer- bring the booklet to this store in singapore, and get a free model. turns out the store was for warhammer 40k.
so, i showed the booklet, got a free model, not assembled, of course, and one of the shopkeepers offered to show me how to make and paint the model.

so i said sure, and sis agreed too. so he showed me how to cut it out, glue it together. then he gave me another of the same model with some primer on it, and showed me how to dry brush it, then how to paint it.
all the while, i was fascinated. i was loving the whole process, and it was then that i realised that model building was for me. the game itself is fun, but i know that i like warhammer more for the models.

so, he tells me that there's a special offer. i could buy a starter set and get a free paint and cutting kit... for exactly the amount of money i had left to spend.
so i thought for a bit, considered taking two addition packs and buying the cutting and paint kit... then realised that the starter set deal was worth it after all. so i bought it.

so, once i go back to india on wednesday, i'll start making my army! it's gonna be fun, and i can't wait

VERY nicely done.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure my mini painting days are well behind me. Just don't have eyes for the small details any more.

Never had anyone around to show me dry-brushing, so all my learning was trial-and-error. You scored big there.

Speaking of mini's. I've been getting some more loads out of storage and relocating to the previously newly cleaned-up garage.

Came across the tote box that had my old mini sets in it... I haven't dared open em yet. I am worried that I'm gonna find little pockets of molten lead lumps where my mini's used to be.

Metal storage unit. Basically an oven in the summer, and deep freeze in the winter.

I used plastic fishing tackle boxes for mine.
Mind you I did 15mm ancient armies so my army was a greek one and of physically smaller size than a warhammer one takes up. Although I did have an elvish one to use on the fantasy rules variation to the main wargame rules, but stored in a separate tackle box

DB - you have years of fun ahead, I loved the process of making my army far more than actually using it in game
