I dunno...
I mean, I trust the people who are saying we're the only problem, but if the old thread was once again taken out of circulation this morning, I just spent 5 minutes getting the forums to load. ...
*one copy/browser reboot/refresh/paste later*
But now that they're loaded they're working well enough. *sigh*
edit: Kinduv. Just had another round of slugginess.

I just had game login slug, too. Maybe related?

Well forum is still kinda wonky.
Our old thread is out of circulation again.
Both games are DOA.
Too hot outside to mow grass or clean gutters.
That just leaves one thing to do - which figures since I'm actually halfway awake at the moment.

OK everybody, belly up to Bekki's bar, drinks are on me.
Hey Bekki, is my credit still good?
Thanks all. It's okay. Just one of those "I managed to PO nearly everyone in my life inadvertently through poor word choice, weeks" lol.
But! I do have something to share.
Things I learned from roleplaying a male MMO character as a female player for a couple months:
1. If it is a male avatar, everyone assumes you are a male player, no questions. No one ever asked me if I was indeed a male in real life. I would not have lied about it if asked, but no one ever did. Even the men did not detect my gender when I hung out with them. Granted I avoided voice chat, but was fairly true to everything else in my personality minus a ton of emoticons.
2. Women tend to be mean, even if they aren't mad at you. I was called a dolt and other non-profane names more times than I can recall, and all for silly things (no real arguments or upsets that I'm aware of.) I guessed that men are expected to just suck it up and take it, so that's what I did, but it still did not feel nice. This has never happened to me as a known female player regardless of avatar gender. I will definitely be aware of my tongue towards men going forward and I'm sorry if I ever did that to any of you.
3. Men tend to be pretty chill about everything. You can easily toss around a couple off-color jokes and not care that anyone is going to get offended. I found it pretty easy to get along with men in general. EXCEPT the White Knights. They are the worst. When their Princesses are miffed they go absolutely berserk and say some of the dumbest, most ridiculous threats I've ever heard online.
4. As time went on I got more and more annoyed with "grrrrl gamerz." The ones who just have to constantly remind you that they are FEMALE, OKAY?!!! As if this is some sort of rarity. I always got a kick out of the ".. well you're a guy so you wouldn't know how hard it is!!" comments. Pfft.
5. Women tend to be a whole lot more creative in general. They really seemed to put a lot of thought and effort into making certain things (projects, houses, avatar appearance, community events, etc) absolutely perfect and stunning. Most of the guys I met didn't have that level of dedication to stat-irrelevant minutiae. I believe most player-run events are actually female-run or at least female-heavy, and they do a fine job of it.
So overall pretty interesting experiment to me. I think I'll try it again sometime in the future in another universe.![]()

I punch my uncle, and he just gives me a hug*. My cousin (boy) hits him, and my uncle either folds him up or holds him in the air by his ankles.
*Although the hug I got for kicking him in the shins made it a little tough to breathe.![]()
