    Was mildly amused...

DDO & LOTRO both down yesterday. We were having a "maintenance", while they were having a "hotfix".

Was a Diablo 2 day again for me.

You did that me... been pondering the near future, aka 10 years from now. What will the job market be in this capitalist market of ours.

What jobs will still be around with robots able to preform labor "cheaper". Lawyers, market analysts, teachers, technical people to create and repair said robots were the first ones I could think off the top of my head. Oddly in that order.

Military as well. And I'm also torn about combat robots... Part of the reason to not have war is the human devastation possibility. Robots is just loss of equipment, not life. Sure this is a philosophical argument but one I see coming forth moreso in the next 10 years.

Perhaps, but one of the big issues with war is also where to fight it.
nowadays it's in the cities, in structures.
or you have trench warfare from the world wars.

earlier used to be a big grassy field, the soldiers and death.
unless they went a pillagin' of course.

i thought of an idea for wars. battle arenas. have them decided by those bred for it, who want to fight. no need to involve everyone else.

then again, things would devolve anyways into normal fighting.

Best is to be responsible, mature, and reasonble. But if "we" were able to be that way we wouldn't have war either.

And because it needs to be said, "how about a nice game of chess."

For the "old foggies" still out there, I wonder how the 4k energy usage compares to the old ray tube style.

The new TVs might even act like the old tube models if one follows the energy-saving tips at the end of the article. "Turn off the Fast Start feature." Lol. So your new-fangled TV will take time to come on just like the old tubed ones.

Almost normal. I was actually productive at work today. That shouldn't be happening.

    well i have new staff.

I'm still sad at the loss of my manager (last day this friday ) and now my other worker has gone on early maternity leave as well making me very sad, but new hope is always around the corner
I have a new worker to step into the role next monday until the maternity leave is over and there is always hope my manager will return as she's already over her hubby and she hasn't started really working with him yet, hehe.
Then today, I had a fully qualified sparky walk in off the street and ask for a job.. just a perfectly timed blessing handed to me. We had an impromptu interview right then and both outgoing manager and me agreed he was perfect so he's got a job.

Life is rather a weird assortment of seemingly random events that really do make you got w t h is going on here cause it's all worked out for the best now

I still want my old manager though so told her when her hubby comes to collect her friday after work it's pistols at 30 yards to see who keeps her she got a good giggle out of that one.

    Morning all!

I wanted to make sure to wish everyone (in the US) a happy thanksgiving. Been incredibly busy, however on Friday we get to take home a sweet standard poodle puppy as part of my youngest daughters Make-a-wish. She will at least become a therapy/companion dog for her, but she shows excellent potential at this age to maybe be a service dog for her in the future. Needless to say we are all excited.

    sadness day today.

Manager's last day was yesterday and it was rather hard. I have never worked in a company where tears from both the one leaving and the employer occurred but by golly did we both struggle immensely yesterday not to cry in each others presence. We did not succeed well either
I can totally understand one of my old bosses attitude of never getting to know his employees well because if I had kept her at a distance we would not be hurting so much now. *sigh* But then I would have missed out on the best ever working relationship I have had the joy of been part of, and I am a richer person for it.
I know she's badly needed by her hubby to fix his business mess and I know she'll do an amazing job at it, and we both know it had to happen else she could loose all her houses leaving her kids and parents out of a home (they rent one of the houses each), but neither of us really wanted it to have to be that she left. There is always hope she will sort his issues and come back, but I suspect that wont be the case.

I will so miss her. Be well my dear friend.

*tearful mussing over now.. time to move on.*
