Doc has called for a family meeting Saturday morning. Apparently there's a Chromosone-17 abnormality which complicates recovery even with a marrow transplant. From what I'm reading, this turns the situation from a 1-2 month recovery/remission into something far far worse.

Morning meeting with the docs. Didn't learn much we didn't already know - except how urine-poor the communication between departments is at this hospital. Had to have 'approval' for the multi-person meeting, but each step of the way in had to explain it to every nurse and security point, even after getting to her floor and nurses station.

So anyway.

Still waiting on more results from more tests that dig further into the effect her deleted C17 chromosome is going to have on future treatment choices. Apparently the current abnormality was only found in one specific cell of the last test. Next test covering a larger sample to determine how prevalent the issue is. If no further complications come up from the chromosome issue, doc is setting chances at remission from the one treatment at 60-80%, but made sure to emphasize the remaining test results that aren't back yet.

She's not in great discomfort from the chemo so far, but it's still first week of the 4-week treatment.

Blood work still hovering in the okay-but-not-great area. Platelets still being a little argumentative. Bone marrow test Monday.

Now, back on the home front... Eldest cat gave in to his age early hours this morning. I was waiting at the vet's office for them to open so we could help him across the bridge. Just shy of 17.
