So what can a guy get a good candy bar for over there? I'm almost priced out of an appetite for them here.

Good morning.

I'm glad the Hardcore League is over. My hubby quit playing it with just a little over two weeks to go to the end. His highest level character was 7 or 8. After he gave up, I was secretly playing for him while he was at w***... up until the last four days anyway. He came home from w*** early and was delighted I had made it to level 11 (holding 2 levels, so could be 13). I managed to get him the weird gooey eyes and the level 20 cloak.

My man is a good soul but he doesn't have the patience or cautious nature for permadeath. He's a barbarian at heart. He doesn't understand the meaning of that's too dangerous, or that optional is risky. He's the type to careen around a corner in ToEE and take on 2 dozen mobs because its only 2 dozen! I'm the one that always comes prepared to a quest, tries to remember where the traps are, provides most of the CC, most of the healing. When he subbed for Hardcore, I have to admit I was kind of curious where he would end up with it... because I know him and how he plays. I think I knew early on it wasn't going to end well. I think the first clue was the character he was doing incredibly well on until he ran out of ammo mid-quest. A reasonable person would have recalled, stocked up on ammo and tried to re-enter before the window closed and restart if necessary. He suicided the character.

I did die on a couple characters just starting out. Its rough early on trying to do elites with poor gear, even in a party. I never really managed to get decent gear. I was still wearing red fens equipment at cap. Playing permadeath was stressful to me. I'm not sure I can honestly say I enjoyed it. I did enjoy achieving something for him so he didn't feel he wasted his time. I even think he learned something because he was actually getting some potions and scrolls on his low level TR that we're currently duo-ing.

If I learned anything its that there aren't enough level break places in game with guaranteed equipment for low-to-moderate grind. I regret not getting the armor or rune-arm from Phiarlan Carnival but I could only run the chain once because I was already banking XP and neither were on my reward list. I did not get the rune-arm from Sentinels either, just wasn't on my list. I ransacked Strinati's chest no runearm. My best rune arm until level 9 was the one from catacombs. At 9 I got pea-shooter from Red fens and that's what i had to cap. I ran RL chain once on elite and three quests to ransack on elite and only ended up with 3 unique named items & 3 macabre weapons from all of that and none were good for my character. I know my loot luck sucks but that really seemed statistically poor. I ended up getting enough XP from these to be level 15 + though. And it was mainly slayers to cap from there on out, I ran just enough moderately dif quests on hard or even norm to clean up the last favor needed.

We need a return of named items on reward lists. We need a return of doing the chain 3x and getting a single choice of all named loot. Astral shard chest rerolls have negatively affected game design by eliminating these practices. I miss meaningful reward lists. Its no wonder so many people don't even bother turning in a quest unless they plan on rerunning it.

well, a normal sized Snickers would be around 56 cents. not sure what it would be for you.

Then again in terms of money, a decent starting salary for me upon graduation would be around Rs. 45,000 per month, or around $630. (We don't really do getting paid by the hour for most jobs)

My youngest caught some sinus infection (no fever) probably on her field trip Friday, to the Children's Museum. She ran up to me this afternoon while I was talking to hubby to show me her progress report and suddenly sneezed spraying the side of my face... and hair with I'm going to guess the bare beginnings of an Ochre Jelly. She started to apologize and then started giggling. I felt simultaneously like Venkmen from Ghostbusters and Rodney Dangerfield. She slimed me, and I don't get no respect.

This is not the first time. She is very generous with her germs. I immediately took a shower but I'm getting ready for bed now and I can feel my throat is getting sore.

Convenience store price for a candy bar is about $1.80 to $1.95. A good sale at the grocery gets em down to .85 to .90

Ignoring the differences in Cost-of-Living and incomes there, $.56 still sounds tasty.

thinking of building myself a new paint carry case. current one is running out of space.
it's a hard briefcase which held chocolates, modified it to hold my stuff.

new one would be wooden, could make one of those boxes with the fold out levels (like in toolboxes)

I'd go with a tackle box for fold-outs/pull-out trays.

so i checked out some fishing boxes, and they look great! that said, since i have the chance to make something i wanna go for it.

the current design i've settled on is a briefcase style, which opens like a book. i'll have rows on either side for paints, and a sliding wooden panel for each side so that the paints don't fall out. then i can attach elastic holders to the board to store paint brushes etc.

alternatively, similar to the tackle box, was looking at borrowing some design idea from this:
