I'm with you on the coffee CD. Never figured that one out either.

I drink coffee as a habit, but it tastes so bitter I try to neutralize the acid with milk and I need quite a lot of sugar. Finns drink most coffee per person, and teachers traditionally drink more than most. I like the cookies better.

Some small drama here amidst all the worry of starting new semester at w***. Leveling drag had just done it's work on local dirt road, making it slippery with all the loose gravel. We were on our way to national park to pick some blueberries, when a car comes from opposite direction. Wife drives more to the side to make room, when car starts to slide. Each effort to counter the slide makes the next one bit worse, and brakes have no effect as we go downhill. She pulls the handbrake and we perform a classic bootlegger turn into the ditch.
People in the other car saw everything from rear mirror, and came back to help. Also the next car passing by stopped and volunteered a steel cable to help get our car back to road.
Speed was rather low to begin with, se we were unharmed. Car got lots of gravel between tyre and wheelhub, and some small plastic cover grate came off, but it seems to be ok. I have to call insurance company today to get the car checked. Luckily our insurance covers towing.

First off, glad you're all okay.

While it seems counter-intuitive, sliding/skidding out of control is where you DON'T want any braking - not even the engine braking effect of having your foot all the way off the accelerator (if automatic trans). Until you are back under control, light caressing of the accelerator is your friend.

I didn't like or understand the attraction to coffee until I was pregnant with my daughter. Suddenly, something that had never appealed to me smelled divine. I couldn't have it because I was pregnant but my tastes changed. My sense of smell shifted too. There are a number of foods that I eat and enjoy now that I loathed before my daughter was born. There are also a number of foods that I used to love that now I can't tolerate.

And Cd there is nothing wrong with raisins in cookies. I make a variety of oatmeal raisin cookies with diced pecans that are heavenly.

Oddly, I do like the smell of fresh ground coffee beans. But anything with even a remote flavor of coffee like flavored cappuccinos just hit my taste buds wrong. Can't do em.

It's the consistency, for me. I've had cookies where the raisins were chopped down to smaller pieces of debris that were okay. Course, don't get me wrong - just about any cookie is fair game, raisins or no raisins.
