Well life has an interesting way of tossing things in your general direction.
This injury of mine has basically resulted in my having to restructure my company so I can still have a job, Which doing so ultimately lead me to an opportune dinner date last light with a man who s looking for a business partner to do ground sourced heat pumps with.
I have always wanted to move in this area but can't drill the holes and don't have the contacts overseas to bring the product in. The man I spoke with has those two issues solved but doesn't have the technical skill to install or maintain said systems. Needless to say it was a very interesting discussion and had I not been injured I would not have been there at that time.
Life is funny how things work out sometimes...
Sometimes... you get smacked to slow you down.
Then the real test begins. Will you learn the lesson being taught and will you be patient enough to learn it? If so there can be rewards.
The old lesson of the stick and the fish. If you wack a man with the stick, when he takes it away, just what will he do with it? Strike back out of vengeance or be merciful and go fishing instead with the gift just received?
Now granted the actual old lesson is giving fish and teaching to fish, but lets face it. The above makes for a more catching sermon these days, and just as pointed.

"It's a dangerous business, going out of your door, Frodo my boy." He used to say. "You step into the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no telling where you might be swept off to." ~ Frodo Baggins (Quoting Bilbo Baggins)
hehe. sermons...
I've always liked the "other" take on that type of tale.. Teach a man to make a fire he'll be warm for a day, set a man on fire and he'll be warm the rest of his life
however, you did call it way back when I said I'd screwed up and got injured so I might let you get away with the sermon today

not quite. When I was... 4 or 5, parents allowed me my own smaller Christmas tree in room. So naturally I needed an extension cord to plug it in. I went to where I knew the stash was and just grabbed a hand full.
Being a kid, I just knew that christmass lights have both male and female ends. So with how I ran the lights in the tree the first time, I needed a male male cord. Low and behold there was one in the stash. (I have no idea why.) something didn't look right so I unplugged it from the lights and for whatever reason I put my knee down on the active plug.
Yeah that hurt. But when I looked down to see what bit me I didn't see anything. So naturally I had to play and figure out what the heck was going on. Somehow, and I don't know how, I figured out "oh that must be electricity." And then proceeded to play the game of "how long can I hold onto it." It wasn't long.
edit: the real sad thing is that doing so actually ended up helping me later on trouble shooting electrical issues. Wood should never "zap" you. Well... it was. And then I was like "wait a sec.... that was familiar." Proceeded to tell the wife that if my hand doesn't come away in 2 seconds to knock me over. Hard. She didn't have to knock me over but I was going after that... "Yeap... that's 120 ac. How the heck." Ground on conduit was shorted and live.
