Good afternoon all. I'll write up everything amusing from my adventures with my daughter later today.

Okay so we returned to 3BC to run The Troglodytes' Get, and Old Grey Garl. At first we just played hide and go seek in the town area of 3BC. She found several really good spots that hadn't occurred to me, the best of which was up on the docked airship. One time I looked for her underwater around the pier but she almost panicked because my character didn't have underwater action equipped and she thought I was going to drown so she was leaning over me shouting "Spacebar! Spacebar! Hurry Mommy!"
We ran out to the quest the first time and teleported back the second. Let me say right here, that I forgot about the oozes. She won't fight oozes, they're booger-monsters to her. Inside the quest, she called the trogs fart-lizards, and complains that they keep "stinking" her. I tell her to stay back and use her spells. So she starts shooting them with her light spell. "In the face! In the face!" We had some discussion about the eggs. This is not an optional, we were there to destroy the eggs. Only my little girl says they should be taken to a pet shop and "made good". I explain that obedience training will not make bad guys into good guys, and baths weren't going to magically make them nicer either. This goes on for a little while but eventually she concedes that these are bad-guy lizard monsters as opposed to the good-guy dragon people to which she temporarily has access.
So we more or less proceed with the quest until we come to the room with the tall pillars. I cannot get her out of this room. She wants to hop across the tops of the pillars and float to the floor only to run back up stairs and do it some more. I had a little trouble with this in The Snitch, where she loved the "water slides" and complained (a lot) about not being able to immediately go again. Perhaps we can have a summer event someday featuring these Water slides.
So I more or less completed the first quest waiting for her to grow bored of pillar jumping.
The second time through went far more smoothly with the exception of the gargoyle chest. Now she had already seen this in the first quest, we get the chest then get locked in with the gargoyles who come to life and attack. She flatly refused to go in at first and said "But Mommy its a trap!" "Its a trap!" Of course in my head I'm hearing General Akbar. Swimming for the final chest and end fight also elicited some cries of "Mommy be careful. Hold your breath like this." Which had me struggling to pretend to hold my breath while chuckling to myself.
Finally we ran what used to be one of my favorite quests. Storm the Beaches. But alas the AI/stealth-play changes have made this far more annoying than enjoyable. I like to go up the sneaky route fighting my way past the wolves and wildmen to the top of the fort. I then instructed her to help me destroy the ballista from above. For whatever reason, destroying the first ballista on the SE corner angered dozen of mobs that came charging up to the top to attack us. It seemed like they were passing the message as they circled around and up to us. While this may be smart AI, its aggravating. I used to love these outdoor style quests but we had to pull out of this one because my daughter just wasn't ready for this style of play.
We finished with a fashion show on the ship trying on the armors we picked up. She's seen me do this in the past (for cosmetic and crafting purposes) and its become a thing for her too.

And on that note, I need to go hug my mom.

And speaking of moms.
Mom2 received 136 cards (so far) for her birthday yesterday. Gonna try to link to a FB video of her as she was handed the massive box of cards.
https://www.facebook.com/brenda.quic...2143967730260/Thank you all so very much for the cards , thoughts and prayers for my mom aka Nana.
It ONLY took an hour and a half to read all the cards. She laughed and cried. And to the ones that said they need to come eat chicken, she is waiting.
This one with the donkey made her laugh and the ones with memories written in them made her cry.... But she loved them all. The cards from pets might seem silly to some, but she enjoyed them. She loves the fur babies.
...<snip a LONG list of names.>...
136 Cards.
You may share this if you like so that everyone knows we thank them. I don't want to leave anyone out.
I did let them know a couple cards are still en route.

Found while wandering...
Morning all.
Aww. That really was sweet.
That may have to wait. Right now we can only make videos with our phones, our video cam is having issues (probably a bad/old battery) and until we're certain hubby's new job is working out we're being careful with our spending money.

Morning all.
I wanted to share this now before I forget too much of it. To set the scene... I am doing needful but tedious inventory maintenance, so I set my little girl up playing beside me so she can have fun and I can keep an eye on her. Of course she goes to Korthos. All on her own.
Now I may have given you the impression that she talks a lot but she actually speaks about half as much as my son. The majority of what she says besides questions and requests, is made up of catch phrases she has heard others say. This may be snippets of songs, things repeated on commercials, comedic bits that just get said a lot in the house such as "Excellent!" in Montgomery Burns voice. I suspect she doesn't talk as much as our son because she recognizes that she mispronounces many things... such as the b sound in place of v (example: inbentory) or w in place of l (sway instead of slay). This means she listens more than speaks, and also means its hard to predict what will come out of her mouth when she decides to interject.
So I'm listening to her being unusually chatty beside me as she's running Heyton's rest and I realize after a moment that she's telling or retelling herself the story of Korthos. Some snippets of what I hear:
"They're bad guys, what can I say? They can do whatever they want because they're bad."
"They're going to kill the people of Korthos! Oh No! I MUST stop them!"
"You, you rotten fish, you get away from there!"
"The heroes sway the bad guys and save the people of Korthos. The End."
"Mommy I beat him, I saved the people. High Five, down low, too slow."
She then gets her end reward and thanks the quest giver as if she can hear her.
I'll post anything interesting from our questing together later.

Good Morning everybody.
My daughter and I did not get to play very long last night when our internet/cable started having problems. Cable came back fine about 20 mins after issue but internet not so much. I checked the forums and posted from my phone a few times while getting ahead on chores and hoping it would just fix itself (it sometimes does) but it wasn't till hubby got home late, late evening and made a call to Comcast with some back and forth that it came back on as if nothing happened. Pffft. Now all my laundry is done and the books on the shelf are organized again, and if it had gone on longer I would have started reorganizing the kids room which is an exercise in futility because it never stays perfect for longer than one bedtime.
What we did get to play was the beginning of Sorrowdusk and a little hide and go seek in House Deneith. She did find a place in Deneith I'd never seen before. If you swim down the stream toward the airship tower and swim under some stone work you come up in this little alcove with a drow named Waverider IIRC. I had no idea he, or his little hide-a-way was there. However, my daughter was so excited to find the place she seemed to forget how she got there and then was a little panicked that she couldn't get out.
On Sorrowdusk I just ushered her around a little at a time, letting her get a feel for the place. It was raining while we were in the wilderness zone and she wanted to stop at several camp fires to "warm up". She's also developing a healthy suspicion of bridges in the game due to so many of them being trapped. I read all the quest dialogue to her, including the captain's in faux pirate brogue, and the good ogre's in my best impression of Mongo (Blazing Saddles). I was even reading the overhead text of the ogres in the wilderness and quests and I was reminded when that one ogre says "You'll make a nice loincloth," that many of my characters have worn Bloodknuckle's Loincloth and I still don't know if that was made from the same... material. But it snapped me out of reading everything because oops I had read that line and my daughter, of course, asks "what's a line-cloth?"
I had no good answer immediately, so just in case I said "Hey look at those spider webs... where do you think that leads?" She answers, "Mommy... *rolls her eyes* to spiders, silly."
In the third quest she accidentally ran off the bridge into the lava (I don't know if she hit R by mistake or if the camera was spinning) but this is the first time I realize there is no way up from this lava. She dies and is back on the ship to Sorrowdusk, very dissatisfied. We had already completed the quest, she just missed out on a rare chest, and this was when the internet/cable went pooka. The only other interesting bit was her introduction to rustmonsters, she had never gotten the rare in WW, so I let her explore the pit on her own because she wanted to be the leader. She called them giant cockroaches and screamed and ran, and panicked so bad she had trouble with the ladder. I laughed and laughed, and felt a little mean but it was funny. We live in an old house with several large trees in the backyard and when it storms those big tree roaches will land on the back windows in droves. She's pretty scared of them. I try to give her courage by insisting she squish it with a shoe if one does get in the house. This brings me back to the rustmonsters because while she was panicking she was shouting "Squish them! Squish them! Moooommmmyyyy squisssshhhh them!"
You have to imagine a tiny little female halfling running in circles and pitifully hopping about (because clerics can't jump) being chased by 5 or so rustmonsters while shouting "Squiiiiiiish them!"
Hope you are amused.
