*Tscheuss serves up special batch of chili*

Spices are antiseptic, and the peppers are particularly... erm... flavorful.

A friend used to make something called 'dragons breath soup' when folks got sick.

    Start with any chicken soup.

Add onions, garlic and your choice of peppers. Generally, as he was a sadist, it was the hottest peppers he could find.

Another night surrounded by tornadoes, and even one circulation passed close enough I probably could've seen it in the light. The same one that hit Oak Grove just to our east, which will probably make the big news outlets. Sounds like they got nailed tough.

Only thing I got was a small bruise on my shoulder from running out to grab a hail stone.

My souvenir from last night. Was heading out to grab another stone, but this one tapped me on the shoulder and suggested I head back to the porch.

From other pics posted from the area, this is one of the small ones. Had some tennis ball sized on the north side of town.

    Good afternoon all.

Did anyone here dislike reading? My son can read decently for his age group (2nd grade) but since Christmas the teacher has assigned everyone to read 20 mins a day aloud from chapter books. Previously, my kid read when he wanted to (sometimes as long as an hour) from various sources; picture books, chapter books, comic books, science magazines, etc. But now that he considers it homework I'm having difficulties getting him to do so.

    Any suggestions?

    Liked reading. HATED forced reading.

Sounds like they're letting him pick his own books for this? That'll help.

Maybe try some of those "make your own adventure" books? If it's interactive where he's reading the story and having you or dad make the choices in the adventure it'll spark some interest and distract from the "homework" aspect of it. (Some were written fairly low of the difficulty scale so might work for a 2nd grader) Check Amazon/Ebay.

edit: Hmm. "Chapter books". Adventure books might be stretching that definition a little thin.
