Default Great Crossbow vs. Heavy Repeating Crossbow for Mechanic

Has anyone tested? Which is better DPS?

Since DCs aren't working in eShavarath I am considering switching to a mechanic to try it out.

Repeter is better till level 18 or so, after that, it depends. Against fortified enemies repeater is better, against non fortified they are about the same. Only thing that makes Great crossbow better, is the knockdown, in case you don't have CC for sneak attack. Otherwise repeater. 3X all the procs is just too good.

In epics, I prefer the great crossbow, since it crits often & hits like a truck when it does - have precision & assassin's trick (and maybe black dragon armour) & you'll be able to crit many fortified enemies too. Having vorpal on 19-20 is very tasty for knockdowns & a number of special effects, including, naturally, vorpal - and there's a tasty new named one coming in u27 (epic & heroic versions) for those great "BOOM HEADSHOT!" moments.

Overall though, they're both pretty well balanced against each other, its just a matter of preference whether you want burst-fire assault rifle or bolt-action sniper rifle
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
