It's a funny thing the bound status of loot and there probably isn't an easy solution that would make everyone happy.

It's easy enough to say make loot unbound and it will encourage players to run the quest more so they can trade the Loot.
But of course this is not really the case, we can use raids and other specific quests as example that BtC loot does encourage quests to be run more.

An example of a quest where there was BtC loot that resulted in that quest being run alot is the Weapons Shipment in Amrath. Before Mnemonic Potions became as abundant as they are now this was a quest that was run alot by people specifically for loot, for specific characters. This was not a flagging quest for ToD, but was probably run more than all of the other quests in Amrath put together.

The loot has to be of such quality that people are encouraged to run these quests multiple times to get this particular item for that particular character.

Now of course the devs could use this sort of idea and implement new content with unbound loot and ulta rare bound to character loot that will encourage the content to continue to be played.
This in itself causes issues of course as many players expect any uber loot to be only obtainable by the best of the best players (eg. ultra EE). There is an inlking of merit to this ideal, but of course there is the other side of the argument that it further increases the gap between the best players and those at subsequently lower tiers.

So I think Varg is definately onto something, but wouldn't it be nice if the devs gave us these little gems to hunt in quests, that are bound to character and are rare.
It would encourage the content to be run, but at the same time there should also be loot dropping that can be traded to.

The times of little gems like Bauble, RoSS or Bloodstone are long gone. The last time we had something like this was Jibberis and it has been added after a long time of community asking for something like that.

I would agree that if we had something similar, so rare and so powerful like Bauble or JIBBERS, it should be BtC.

Yep, BtC rare drops are the only things that will keep content being run over and over, could be things as simple as a tiered augment, that doesn't require a jewelers kit to remove and improves as your character levels. So you can remove it from gear and slot it in your higher level stuff as you level.

I'm sure the devs or the community can come up with more stuff that could be todays equivalent of the bauble or the ear dweller, to encourage both grouping and playing content.

    Eg.

    Augment of Deadly Strikes.
(This augment levels as you level)
At lvl 1 is Deadly 1, at lvl 3 is deadly 2 etc..... all the way to deadly 10 at lvl 30, with some sort of added bonus at max character level. (Could be a heartseeker bonus or something similar)
It is free to remove and replace into another slot and is bound to character.

Surely the devs could come up with other items or better items.....

I'm thinking, make items unbound, each drops in 1 quest, and add bta upgrade currency, droping everywhere in all quests.

BTA is the better choice. If you desire an item, you run the content to go get it, rather than buying it.

The level what can be bought and paid for already reached an all time high during the level 25 endgame when characters could not only be leveled without running content, but could also be geared without running content. At some point in that era someone figured out that people continue playing a game longer when they.....you know.....have to accomplish their goals....... by actually doing this thing...... called playing the game.

Sadly very true in the last week I have pulled 4 RoSS 1 on one server and 3 on another plus on that server I pulled 5 bloodstones makes me so sad I start finally pulling them when they are almost worthless. Happened long ago with WoP weapons day after they nerfed them I pulled 5 what would have been great weapons.

And once you have the item, let content die like it happened with Necro4 and 3BC? Doesn't seem the "better choice" to me.

Apart from jibbers blade most items from them two packs were easy to aquire so when its new and you have people running it all day on the first day to get everything ofc there is gonna be nothing left to get.

ToEE they made loot harder to find, me personally liked that but others didnt as they couldnt do what they did in necro and 3BC

I am divided a bit on loots..

Personally I prefer the BTA for my toons running a lot of the quests.. lets me change toons to suit and get things for alts and use across my toons as I do TR's.
and this does require players to actually play the content on their accounts.. not just buy the prize without ever buying the pack or stepping foot into the area.

But I do like to have an option somewhere in the process to be able to trade/sell items.

This is where I would have liked to have seen the chain end reward be a BTCoE.
Quest gives the BTAoA.. so you have to be there to get the reward. farming one quest for specific items is viable and can swap toons to suit the group.

Farm the chain for the version that is tradeable/sellable..
which requires farming the whole chain repeatedly for a shot at the end reward list not just rinse/repeat one chest in a quest.
BTCoE lets you do what you like with it and still be restrictive enough to encourage players to want to run the quests for the BTA version.

I think it's better the other way around. BtC from endreward and BtAoE if you get them from the chest so you can sell them. Which means farming chain reward on the toon you looking the item for, farm the quests themselves if you want to sell/trade them.

I still prefer BTAoA for quest version and BTCoE for chain version.

    1. Farming 1 quest is easier than the chain, it is generally more time tedious to farm the chain.. this helps keep a high cost/value for sellable versions.
    2. Groups running the quests still get the items put up for roll since it is a use by you, your alts or another party member before it comes out of the chest. BTA items have no value beyond this. reduces greed pulling.
    3. Chain end reward is only for you, so keep it or sell it.. Party has no contributing factor here.

The longer process of farming chains for the BTCoE version keeps the sellable versions expensive relative to running the quest which is fine by me.. these should be more difficult to buy relative to grinding quests.
This keeps enthusiasm up for players to join groups who would prefer the BTAoA version for TR's and alts.

I think it can go both ways to be honest. Seems like a good solution to me, better than the one we have now anyway.

Default I SEE DEAD crafting systems.

that system is double dead, not only becouse it was abandoned but also becouse there is a lot of easier to get items that outclass 95% of old lvl 20 epic gear,

as for binding i think that named items should bind as they do now, being able to sell some of the best items in the game will create simlarly stupid idea as selling veteran status in a store....... (by definition veteran is something earned not bought, go ask some real world veteran if he bought it, but not the topic....) anyway, named items should be earned, not bought, what should be a big chunk of trade in game should be crafting.

so here we get into another thing, that cannith crafting system should be reworked to be something worth time, as currently its crafting is done mostly for own use while trade of crafted items is not very often:

    1. idea of separate bound/unbound crafting should be dropped - everything should be unbound till equipped, this way those with crafting skills will be able to create good usefull gear/items and sell it for coin, just like in real world. Add ability to craft clickies, wands, potions. crafting of such items would create new trade in game, time ago cannith crafting was given those .... um.... dragonrunes? with stun, fleshto stone and such?? anyone remember it?....... yea thats how much its being used......... but if this idea was expanded on and given more variants, it could be something very useful, imagine an ability of converting of wand or stack of scrolls into a rune stone that does not have casting animation, does not need to be equipped to cast it, all other rulses still aplly though, dont you think it would be useful?

    2. cannith crafting should be able to craft auguments with some of more common and uncommon effects on them, even if crafting them would require lot of effort and skill, it would be worth it to be able to craft for example a augument of mobility, or any other that does exist as crafting part but does not have augument that would add it,

Ugradeable armors from reavers reach should be revitalized by plugging it into cannith crafting, both armors and runes could become materials for crafting in cannith system or auguemnt, years ago those armors were used by everyone, now....... its rare to see one, why? becouse grind required for obtaining one is too great, so it became another dead system in the game. makeing it usefull for cannith crafting would make those quests interesting again, not just as a source of favor and exp.

Just to be clear: there is no change planned for the binding status of items of U27? Is this going to be another "run once and forget" pack of the so called endgame?

Not sure how its a "run once" unless you know a way how to get the guaranteed item you want, plus if items can come with a stacking +2 or +4 mythic bonus which will be rare, that's reason for some people to repeat.

Sorry you people cant make lots of AS

I don't see how it's a once and done pack. I plan to run the chain and raid alot for months to come.

It could take a long time to acquire mythics boosts in all slots. i like that items have to be earned and can't be purchased.

I've been running alot of MOD lately in full parties. That chain is almost a year old and still gets heavy playing time on Sarlona.
