Default Constitution Based Dwarf Evasion Barbarian? (18 Barbarian/2 Rogue)

I was wondering if this would work or if I should stick to a pure barb

I recently TR'ed a TYWA TWF dwarf barbarian 20 and while I occasionally missed evasion, it didn't really end up being necessary. I used FB T5 for the healing over time (~50-70 Hp every 4 seconds with my awful gear) and used Blood Tribute for the worst traps.

Unless you're really gonna focus on saves (or gear yourself a lot better than I did), evasion isn't going to mitigate all that much damage. Barring an instakill that overwhelms Blood Tribute, the self-heals can bring your health back up again. I definitely preferred the capstone over a (small) chance at surviving the few things that could actually kill me.

I thought as much. Evasion is probably not worth it for barbs. Thx for the input.

If you want trap skills, then by all means go for trap skills. But with the improvements to MRR, Evasion is no longer the must-have it once was; which is good, because hitting no-fail Reflex saves on a barb is still a PITA. Barb 18 / rog 1 / ftr 1 is a better split these days, IMHO.
