If unarmed, you really want whirlwind attack, so combat expertise-->up to it.
I recommend 12 monk as one stopping point and fitting in 3 fighter levels for the defensive stance enhancents. This will give you a cheap 25 PRR along with the 30
you get from iron skin and earth stance.
Combat expertise can also get you LD's improved combat expertise for another 20 PRR.

quick glance at feats: you did not take GTWF!
Ninja sting does not work unarmed
I recommend human damage boost not skill boost
If you really wish to go defensive, you could go for the elven dragonmark line (12 AP and a feat, 2 feat cost since you lose human bonus) but with lots of PRR you will not need it.

The BAB was too low, I had to decide either Grandmaster or GTWF at 18. I thought maybe sometimes I would pull out shortswords as well. I mistakenly took the skill boost thinking I was going to be more roguish...I changed my mind. So yeah damage boost would be better.

you really want GTWF, if that is what you mean by swapping?
The image in my sig links to a longsword splash that is similar with an ER option into a ranged version. For both, I could have used four fighter levels.
