Default Inferno Epic & Chord of Reprisals

I'm about to try to farm up one of these belts. I'm curious, does the old-heroic-additional-chest-for-tome-page still drop anything special, or is that something I can safely avoid?

Is it only the end chest that drops named loot?

Also, is the drop rate for named items significantly better on H/N/E?

Afaik, yes. However, you can also get those items as chain end reward.
On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).

Ah nice. Well that makes it a bit easier; I still need to run Vol (run the others - got in a group and did them elite).

Looks like one of the slots can be upgraded by running the normal quests, but the other needs MoD and lots of the taps from there. I guess that's why folks post the mutliple-runs things w/ the raid bypass timers.

all the orchard quests are worth running repeatedly for the items.. for your main or alts...
Its all currently best in game gear. and all versions of the items drop on all difficulties, so any group is better than holding out for the ideal difficulty group.
Running the chain gives the chance of a end reward drop as wll, so it works nicely.

MoD drop rates are terrible, Generally we are running incremental 20's for the named items list reward and collect the tapestries on the way.
It actually works out pretty well, by the time you finish 20 runs you have enough taps to upgrade.

Raid bypasses are neither here nor there, if you have them great, if not .. doesn't matter.. still be groups running when you come off timer.
The only nice thing with the bypass timers is running with a successful quick rinse/repeat group. but defeats the point running past ransack.. since we still want tapestries for upgrading.

The BTA nature is quite nice.

I'm a bit bugged about MoD, but mostly because I'm a suck Mario player and that means I'm not as good at some of the puzzles as I'd like and end up piking and feeling guilty for not contributing as much.

from my perspective Mod is way easier than heroic Abbott.

Mod doesn't have puzzles per say.. like the old Abbott did.
There are invisible tiles on the west and east side to get to thee two side rooms which you can traverse by blind running with some good self healing and a mental concept of the two rows of random modulating tiles
Getting trapped under the tiles is what generally gets people killed here..

Ask to get the goggles from the first ddoor room alter and you can see the tile patterns, its pretty straight forward once you get a feel for the layout.

Once the sides are done its a beatdown of mobs while staying out of the clouds that tick 20% of your life.

Basically.. keep alive and beat on Abbott.. its over when he's dead, if you have not been assigned to dps trash.. don't...
Outer edge behind archers are safe spots for inferno and waves.. stockup your curse pots and have a permanent deathblock item. Ioun stone/jewelled cloak for swapin as needed.
there are some good write-ups on MoD here in the forums somewhere..

Yeah talking to someone last night it seems as if the raid isn't a carbon copy of the old one (like the dungeons kinda are - but I like the dungeons). Cool stuff.

oh and forgot to mention.. Epic MoD clean runs on normal are 10 minutes and done...Never get that in Heroic Abbott..
Which makes it pretty easy to knock out a run or more and still have a night of adventuring.

Sounds much better. I always felt bad tossing boulders.

Also, I kinda got burned by losing an item early on in abbot w/ the stupid boulders. Today it'd be junk, but at the time I loved it ;-)

    I remember those days..
Lost my freshly crafted T3 pos greensteel weapon and was told by a GM that what happened was not possible and I would be banned if I submitted another ticket. (first ticket was autoclosed with no response)
was left feeling like the GM basically calling me a liar.
Called customer service who told me there was nothing they could do it was an in-game issue and that I should have submitted an in-game ticket.
Told him I did and what the GM response was.. He said he would look into it and get back to me.... still waiting for that callback... whats that now 4 years.. 5....
Never did get never got a response to my bug report or ever see my weapon returned.
Eventually gave up and crafted another one.
Lost faith in the DDO support team after that.
Guildies were great they got me most of the materials to re-craft and get back on track..

IIRC mine was a Chaosblade; I had it out because I liked the look and it was one of my earliest raid loot items.

Left a bad taste, barely ran Abbot after that - though I've gotten a few more Chaosblades...

The extra chests in the flagging quests were for Shield pieces; the Tome pages came from Litany. Though at one point they made it so either drop from all over, including wilderness rares, which made getting Shield or Tome turn-ins vastly easier.

I haven't seen either drop in Epic, though; I don't think they do.

They do. Habit forces me to get the extra chest in Inferno, and I've pulled 3 shield pieces
