    Default Eldrich Blast basics questions

    For what I've been reading Eldrich Blast will be:
    • a lv 9 spell for DC matters;
    • will get his DC from is Evocation school;
    • base damage is force damage.

    Now I have some questions I'm not sure I've seen/heard being adressed:
    • Is Eldrich Blast considered a Force Spell (like Magic Missile)?

    • Will the pact toggle change the spell type to Fire/Acid/Sonic and give the Eldrich Blast sinergy with Sorcerer Enhacements and Draconic ED?

    • Will the Light spell power from enhacements, (epic) feats and ED's also give Aligned spell power or are we stuck with items for that?

    • Same question goes for Force spell power from trees/feats and Physical/Untyped damage.

    I hope I can answer you some of the questions:

    • It is a Force Spell, so Force Spellpower will increase the damage, as long as you don't activate a blast essence that changes the damage type, if that was your question.
    • No, it will not. If you activate the pact toggle, your blast will do additional elemental damage, depending on your pact. That pact damage will not scale with force spellpower. It is however affected by your spellpower/ critchance/ multiplier of that element.
    • There is no Alignment Spellpower. There is only Light Spellpower, which increases alignment damage from spells. So if you activate Utterdark Blast from Tainted Scholar, your Eldritch Blast will now deal evil damage. It will now scale with Light spellpower/crit/multiplier instead of Force. Please note that the pact damage is uneffected by this.
    • There is no Physical/Untyped Spellpower. Only Force, which increases your physical and untyped damage from spells.

    No. It is specifically not a Force Missile (Magic Missiles, Chain Missiles, Force Missiles). It also won't trigger anything that specifically triggers on force spells.

    • Will the pact toggle change the spell type to Fire/Acid/Sonic and give the Eldrich Blast sinergy with Sorcerer Enhacements and Draconic ED?
    It will change the damage types, but it won't change the spell type. It won't really synergize with things like Savants.

    • Will the Light spell power from enhacements, (epic) feats and ED's also give Aligned spell power or are we stuck with items for that?

    Spellpower (and critical stats) appropriate to your Eldritch Blast damage types will apply, whatever they are. Some abilities already grant Alignment spell power (if you are dealing Evil damage with Eldritch Blast, for instance), and generally say so. These are usually enhancements that also grant light spell power (but there are exceptions, such as Divine Disciple's Negative spell power.)

    Default Definitely some confusion

    I've tinkered a bit on the test server (which has been fun!), but I'll admit I'm unsure of which part of the EB is able to be pumped up using spellpower. I know that the "cleaves" in the ES are powered by radiance (it is spelled out nicely).

    On release day, could you have a guide on this topic? That would ROCK!

    Thanks for fun times!

    Normal eldritch blast: force/untyped damage (impulse / kinetic lore / spellcraft skill)
    Fey pact: sonic damage (resonance / sonic lore / perform skill)
    Fiend pact: fire damage (combustion / fire lore / spellcraft skill)
    Great Old One pact: acid damage (corrosion / acid lore / spellcraft skill)
    Light and alignment (good, chaotic, evil, lawful) damage (radiance / radiance lore / spellcraft skill)

    A guide would be nice, though, or a basic rundown of how the eldritch blast functions, such as its basic operation, how metamagics don't affect it, and things like that. Not everybody has been following lammania.

    I've tried to collect some information here: http://ddowiki.com/page/Eldritch_Blast
    Most information comes from dev quotes at various stages of implementation, but also player information and possibly even my personal assumptions - but it can provide an overview for the uninitiated.
