Default Availability of certain Cosmetic Armor Kits

Hey everyone, perhaps I'm missing something here or perhaps something's missing from the store, but in either case, it'd be great if I could get some help or clarification with this.

Long story short, I've been toying with the idea of making a new character and modeling the playstyle and look after Youmu Konpaku from Touhou, and in order to accomplish the latter I'd need to get her a green cosmetic dress. I was perusing DDOwiki's article on cosmetic kits, and found one which looked perfect, which can be found here: http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/a...ilverFront.png . However, I found that this kit, as well as many others, are unavailable in the store. There is one kit called "Sage Royal Outfit" which matches the look of another outfit but I couldn't find the one I wanted.

So I ask, are some of the cosmetic armor kits seasonal? Or have they been discontinued? Or is there a third option I'm overlooking?

If they're unavailable anymore for whatever reason, that'd truly be a shame because I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who likes customizing a character's appearance.

Not all of the old kits were converted into the new cosmetic slot system.

    Unfortunately.

Darn. Oh well, thanks for the help!

Really wish there were a way to get some of those cosmetic armors though because the current selection is really limited...

Yeah, I really like some of the old armor kits that weren't converted to the new 'equippable cosmetics' system. They should really assign someone to convert the rest of them after the next update comes out. They apparently already know how to do it; so I'd think it would be a profitable use of time...

Okay, this issue is even more silly if you take a look at the newest DDO Chronicle image...

Behold, the exact armor kit that led me to create this post in the first place!

I mean come on Turbine, it's one thing to discontinue an armor set, and it's another thing to add insult to injury by flashing that discontinued armor set for all players to see... I would pay good TP for this armor kit, and I get that sure, we can't all have everything we want... but this is like saying "hey players, look at this shiny cool thin you can't have!" >.>

This is on the radar. It definitely takes some work to convert them over from potion to outfit type just due to the way the originals were constructed, so we tried to grab a swath of the best sellers. But we know there are more to do yet. We're going to keep trying to get more of them done, just not sure how soon we'll be able to get them in while the artists are working on new loot art and new monster art. But it's on the to-do list.

(Incidentally I'm in the same boat, there's a sage outfit that I like for my ranger).

as a temporary fix why not allow us to use a mirror on armor that has a old kit on it and get the kit look instead of the base armor look? then you could even make this type of cosmetic sellable and players could trade them.

Owing to the functionality of the original armor kits i.e. once used becomes Bound-to-Armor, and made unbound armor BTA thus will never take permanent damage and still trade-able to alts but only on that single piece of armor, I theorize that many refused to purchase them altogether since they had very steep prices for essentially single use cosmetics or like me purchased only the best looking of the cheapest available such as Violet Leaf for the no permanent damage thereafter aspect. This would tend to skew your results as to which armor kits were actually the most sought after. Especially since the last batch of Armor kits (mostly more expensive than the earliest choices) came out just before the great ghostbaning of loot that made so many previously unbound named armors BTC on equip and as such the single-use cosmetics lost even more of their value and thus were less purchased despite their aesthetic qualities.

This is welcome news, however it would be appreciated if you could also enable some way of converting old kits already on an armor to the new system, as one poster mentioned above 'they had very steep prices for essentially single use cosmetics' this is true and it would be somewhat disappointing to have to purchase the same outfit again for the new system.

It's been years. So what's the real reason?
