Feedback
When I saw the dilletante feat, I thought this had a lot of promise, and now I realise that this is just another copy/paste throw-away design. The Major problems:
- The damage doesn't scale. 1D4 damage can't be increased through further enhancements and Spell power doesn't seem to affect it either. Very, very poor in comparison to Rogue or Fighter, both of which can be scaled through Melee / Ranged Power.
- There's a timer on proccing this. Why!? 1D4 isn't going to be a game breaker proccing on every attack or spell cast!
- Buying the enhancements is a Admiral Ackbar sized "It's a Trap" situation. The first improvement of counting as a Level 3 Warlock still only allows you to cast spell level 1 Warlock scrolls! And the second improvement to Sixth level Warlock still only allows you to cast spell level 2 Warlock scrolls!
- Since Scroll DC's are next to useless, there's a few useful scrolls in the list but nothing that an illerate Barbarian couldn't cast in epic levels anyway, or can't be geared for.
- No one in there right mind would pay 2 AP for +3 Universal Spell Power.
Issues
- There's some small spelling/grammatical errors that need to be fixed.
- Warlocks only get the option of Charisma for the Dilletante Ability, every other class has the choice of two stats.
Suggestions
- Scrap the cooldown on the feat, completely. Fix the scaling issue and allow it to benefit from Spellpower.
- Drop the 'counts as Warlock level' from the feats and enhancements. It's boring and uninteresting. Instead, add:
- Feat:
- Improved Dilletante 1: You gain +2 UMD.
- Improved Dilletante 2: Your pact damage increases to 2D4
- Improved Dilletante 3: Your pact damage increases to 3D4
- Drop the Improved Spellcasting Special Abilities. Again, boring, uninteresting, and
- Dilletante Ability 1: Inhuman Nature: +5 MRR
- Dilletante Ability 2: Soul Eater: Consume - Reduced to 1D6 damage, and ensure it either shares a cooldown with the actual Consume ability or is mutually exclusive.
