Soul Eater Oddity, Consume and Stricken, spellpower but not metamagics?

I would have expected Consume and Stricken to be boosted by metamagics, since they are boosted by spellpower. They didn't seem to be, and opposite clicks on them claim they have no metamagics applicable. What's up with that?

They are a type of eldritch blast to me which would make them not affected by metas as is the case with normal EBs which are also affected by spell power but not metas.

for the record, while Stricken and Consume were not affected by metamagic feats on early Lamannia build, they are affected by metas on live.
