    Default Summoning Necromancer

Ok, One of my biggest peeves is Necromancers only have 1 Minion.....Every necromancer I have ever heard about has an army of undead minions, but they pay a price for it, soooo... Heres a tree idea for necros (all minions act as 1 )

    Core: Level 1.- Breaking Bones
+2 all skeleton ability scores, -50 Sp, -2 CHA
    Core: Level 2.- UnLiving Servant
+1 (2 total) Undead Skeletal Knight +15% Skeletal Knight Attach Speed, Zombie Form
Core: Level 3.- Fixing the Broken
+2 INT,2 Skeletal Knight Ability Scores Lose all Summon Monster abilities ,Vampire Form, Lose 20% damage to negative energy spells (except Auras)
    Core: Level 4.- UnLiving Debtor
+1 (total 3) Undead Skeletal Knight +20 PRR (minion) Re-summon Fallen Knight, Wraith Form Lose access to Conjuration Spell School
    Core: Level 5.- UnLiving Slave
+2 (Total 5) Undead Skeletal Knight +30 PRR (minion) +4 All Minion Ability Scores, Lich Form, + 50% Un-Healing from Lesser/Greater Aura of Death

Tree Line 1- Weapon Enhancement 1 Add d4/d6/d8 Unholy Damage to Minion Attacks
Weapon Enhancement 2 2/4/6 to Minion Attack
Weapon Enhancement 3 Add Fire/Ice/Acid to minion attack 2/3/4 (each)
Weapon Enhancement 4 Add Force/Sonic/Bleed to minion attack 3/4/5 (each)
Weapon Enhancement 5 Add +10 to Minion Attack, Increase in Weapon Die
Tree Line 2- Recycled Armor 1 Add +4 To Armor Class of Minions
Recycled Armor 2 Add +3 To all Minion Resistances
Recycled Armor 3 Add +3 (total 6) To All minion Resistances
Recycled Armor 4 Add +8 (total 12) to Minion Armor Class
Recycled Armor 5 Add +9 (total 15) To all Minion Resistances, +8 (total 20) to Minion Armor Class
Tree Line 3- Sacrificial Benefactor 1 Sacrifice a Skeletal Minion and receive 20% HP and SP Return to Summoner
Sacrificial Benefactor 2 Sacrifice 2 Skeletal Minions Receive 1 Mummy Lord
Sacrificial Benefactor 3 Sacrifice 4 Skeletal Minions Receive 2 Wraith Lords
    Sacrificial Benefactor 4 --------------- NA-------------------------------------------
Sacrificial Benefactor 5 Sacrifice All (min 3) Skeletal Minions(must be at full HP)Receive 2 Vampire Clerics
Tree Line 4- Desecration Of the Dead 1 Each time a minion Kills an enemy receive 1% HP back
Desecration Of the Dead 2 -------------------NA--------------------------
Desecration Of the Dead 3 Each time a minion Kills an enemy receive 5% HP back
Desecration Of the Dead 4 (5 Sp) Cause a corpse to explode damaging other enemies for 5% of it's HP (toggle)
Desecration Of the Dead 5 ----------------------NA--------------------------------------------
Tree Line 5- Tainted Service 1 ---------------------------NA-------------------------------------
Tainted Service 2 Add Inflict Light Wounds to Spell Book
Tainted Service 3 Gain TURN UNDEAD as per Paladin (instead of being destroyed effected undead serve the caster 20 seconds per Caster level -4)
Tainted Service 4 Add Inflict Moderate Wounds to Spell Book
Tainted Service 5 Turn Undead ability acts as a Radiant Burst(healing Undead) for all undead in area.

This will most likely never happen. Each summon is an additional amount of overhead on the server (in short, too many summons can produce lag). So, they undoubtedly have a hard cap on the number of summons you can have. So…I don’t think it’ll happen.

Great concept. But there are technical limitations.

On the technical side I don't think it would be too bad as long as players aren't summoning 10 or 20+
I like the idea, but could you explain the basic mechanics you are proposing more?

How many undead can be summoned? how powerful are they? ect

Default Sorry it took so long, been at college.

I'm not looking at any more than 4 total summons (each person can have 3 atm, Hireling, Pet and Summon -perhaps Hires summon) and for each one you summon you lose a spell type to even the field a bit, 4 skeletal knights, or 2 knights and a necro cleric with a necro wizard....

That sounds more like a Man-At-Arms/Knight class (can summon several personal summons like a cleric, fighter, etc; a high level Knight is a veritable walking army). We certainly don't need a necromancer since it completely steps on the toes of a Pale Master as being the negative energy/undead archetype. And yes, I know that a Pale Master is technically not a necromancer, as it's a prestige for arcane casters; the actual class is called a True Necromancer (has both divine and arcane necromancy spells) and also another class called Dread Necromancer (heavy focus on debuffing and undead minions). Apples and oranges, really.

Before they released warlocks the developers were toying with the idea of a Man-At-Arms/Knight class, but they came to the conclusion that it would be stepping on the toes of druids and artificers with their pets being quite unique. In any event, they'll need a summon/pet pass before they add any class that uses summons as a core part of their kit (druid and artificer pets aren't the main focus of the class).
