    Thumbs down Game Locks Up

Below is my dxdiag. I am able to load up, log in, play the game all just fine. I turn on my fans (built in my laptop and I have it sitting on 3 fans), and play. I am able to play for about an hour or so (do about 3 medium to long quests) and the game will lock up. I have missed out on several last chests because it will do it at the end of the quest when everything is updating and awarding me the XP. It seems like it locks up and boots me from the game, but it takes FOR EV ER to do it. I just turn my computer off because I'm impatient. Is it my computer running too hot? I don't have this problem with any other game.

    Thanks for any help!

What do you mean by lock up? Screen freezes or white screen or shutting down alltogether or is there an error message?

It could be the temperature of course. do you have a software reading out the temp? that would help.

Pardon me with my inappropriate game jargon. "Freezes" would probably be the correct thing it does as I'm forced to stare at my frozen, locked up screen, character, everything but mouse. I do not have a temp readout of my cpu/gpu as I do not currently have a program for that. No other game has caused this issue so I hadn't considered it. Time to get one and to put my lappy on a fridge if I want to play DDO again I spose.

I have the exact same issue. The game loads up fine, I get between 30 minutes and an hour of play time, then the game locks up. I can usually continue to type in the chat window for a few more minutes after the lock up, but eventually that locks too.

I've let the game sit in locked mode for half an hour to see if it clears itself up, but it doesn't. The only thing that works is to shut it down via the task manager.

I am going to try a complete uninstall/reinstall today to see if it helps.

Ugh. Reinstall. Yuck. I was thinking of doing that, too. I guess I can try that. >.<

I won't have time to test the results until later this evening, but I'll let you know if it makes a difference once I try it.

Just try to read the temp first, maybe it is a graphic card issue. check updates for your graphic card, too.
