Thumbs up Adoniram - DPS Melee Warlock - Ultimate splash?

Let's get right to it, shall we?

    16 Warlock, 2 Paladin, 2 Monk

This is a DPS-based toon, utilizing the Warlock's Aura ability (turns eldritch blasts into an aura). As such, you gain the benefit of the warlock's unique abilities, but also retain pure melee options.

Further details follow, but here's a quick video of EE Lords of Dust:

OBJECTIVE: Self-sufficient, survivalist Warlock that doles out healthy damage, enough to meander through EE content solo.

    Main strengths:
-High attack speed, high damage as a result, (rare) crits over 4800.
    -Evasion
    -Decent PRR
-Excellent aura DPS for bonus fun
-Self-heals, and heals well when using Divine Crusader abilities
-Mass Hold with decent enough DCs with this lame build to use in EE LOD
-Can switch to regular ranged eldritch blast when necessary

The build uses an incomplete thunderforged khopesh with 1st degree burns, and +6 enchantment DC (no third upgrade). I ran out of comms after making too many TF items......
*EDIT* A friend pointed out I was being an idiot and not using a BS. PDK enhancement allows for CHA to hit/dmg for BS, GS, GA, LS and SS, but not khop. DERP. The fact that you can use a khop and hit 19k+ on a crit should tell you this build is ready to roll for a BS.

In the off-hand, there's an orb for more potency and +6 evocation (for enhanced aura damage, since it has a potential save).

So that you can appreciate what a poor setup I have, here's some stats:
3x warlock past lives, gives 36 point build. Absolutely no other past lives or PL bonuses.

    Some character sheet pics:

    Enhancements:

    Destinies:

    Feats:
    1 - Spell focus, enchantment
    toughness
3 - (would be completionist, but took something meaningless here)
    6 - khopesh proficiency
    9 - Weapon focus - slashing
    11 - MONK
    power attack
    12 - Improved crit - slashing
    13 - MONK
    Single Weapon Fighting (SWF)
    15 - ISWF
    16 - PALADIN
    17 - PALADIN
    18 - GSWF
    20 -
    21 - overwhelming crit
    24 - Cleave
26 - Perfect Two Weapon Fighting (for doublestrike)
27 - Permahaste (would take Epic Damage Reduction on live. This was for convenience.)
    28 - Elusive target

I tried using THF, but found that the SWF line did just as much damage but afforded me another free hand for another TF item, and thus more spell power and DC opportunities.

Well, that's about all. I think I would go with a bastard sword on live, but not sure. Higher crits vs higher base damage is still a debate in my mind...

Legendary dreadnought was not high enough damage to justify losing the extra CHA, or bonus damage, or heals.

Let me know what could potentially be improved!

Out of curiosity, why no Break Forth if you're taking T5 enlightened spirit abilities?

    Which pact did you take?

From the Video it looks like Sonic damage is being done, so Fey?

It's just a heal ability that removes 1-4 neg levels (and 1-6 neg stat points). The undead damage is pretty weak.

From my experience with this toon, I don't need any additional healing capabilities. Cure moderate wounds hits for around 250, consecration hits for around 260, and I have lay-on-hands for around 700. That's 3 pretty solid healing methods already, so I don't think it's worth another 2 AP for Break Forth. I have Restoration pots too for stat damage. I can cast Greater Restoration from a scroll if I really need to remove some neg levels quickly too.

Yes, Fey. Currently, I could have taken Great Old One, but I think lamannia is just broke right now. I have to be lawful good, and that limits the pact selection (or at least, it should on the live servers), so I went with Fey.

Huh, good point. I'm liking Breath Forth, but then I've not messed around much with epic destinies on a warlock. And I prefer not to multi-class usually. To me, the neg level removal and stat damage removal is a huge plus. That, and it's an aoe heal.

Might want to check out this thread before getting to comfortable:

In this case, the abilities Break Forth, Cure Moderate Wounds SLA, and Power of Enlightenment: Positive have been removed from the Enlightened Spirit tree. We recognize that many (most?) of you like these abilities, and their removal creates some questions about survivability of Warlocks, especially ones primarily in this tree.

Yeah, saw that. And I can't say I'm too surprised. The CMW enhancement was a tad strong, and almost makes you immortal as it was implemented. And Spirit Armor didn't feel like it helps as much as a core ability should.

Thanks for the heads up! That definitely changes thing... not sure what I'll do at this point then. Consecration is still good enough for 95% of the quest, but bosses can hit hard enough to need that extra boost. Scrolls are good, but having to swap out a scroll all the time is annoying...

Just a quick update on this build, now that Brilliance has been modded:

-Survivability is still decent, much to my surprise, but the build still lacks decent self-healing. Pots work ok, scrolls hit for like 800+ (but are annoying to swap out), and Lay On Hands hits for 600+ (but only has 1 charge). The best self-healing comes from Consecration, which hits for ~250 several times in a row and works great. 15 second cooldown (I think), so use it wisely, but I am still able to control a large group in EE (~10-12 mobs).

-I was able to copy my character from Argo, and able to turn on my epic past life bonuses, etc. Pretty much everything scaled up dramatically:
    Reflex saves are 86
    PRR is 97
Doublestrike is 17% before using the clicky Divine Crusader thing
Bonus to hit is 80 in main hand (looking at inventory, whatever that's called... I think it's bonus)

Best crit I've seen so far is slightly over 19,000 which is higher than I have ever seen on any of my toons o.0
