    Default Sound crackling

    Hello,

Thing morning, I run DDO as normal on Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i7-3770K CPU 3.6 GHz, 16Gb RAM. I hit the character screen, my sound starts to crackle, it slows my framerate and eventually only a sound every 5 seconds exit my speakers.

Any other game and youtube video works (Witcher 3 for example) work no problem, but now DDO seems to have an issue.

Anyone knows this issue? Please help

    Whats your video card?

I mention it because sometimes the game can bottleneck, and it slows everything else down including sound. I just solved another problem today that might be related. If you have two ati Crossfire cards, you might need to turn off ULPS mode in the registry. Seems latest drivers can turn off the second card and never turn it back on.

    Hi Mindos,

I have a GTX 680, and now that you mention it I DID update the drivers when Witcher 3 arrived at my door, and haven't played DDO yesterday. If the newer drivers are an issue for DDO, is there a way around it? Have the driver version 9.18.13.5286 from 11/05/2015 (or 05/11/2015 for Americans)

Please close, I found the problem.

I use an Xbox one controler to play Witcher 3... and keeping it plugged causes those sound and frame rate issues.

Beats the hell out of me WHY, but... that was the reason.

    Thanks for the help Mindos

THANK YOU!!!! I've had similar problems and this was the culprit.

    UDR Loot Rules:
    1) No griefing people for pulling loot that dropped in their name
    2) When rolling, classes for which the item is "useful" get +10 to the roll
example: Wiz and Barb both roll on a Torc, the barb saying "I'm TRing into an arcane next week"
Wiz gets +10 on his roll
