Asymmetry is cool and all but some armours really do go too far with the pauldron thing, if anything I'd like a minor glamorizing doodad(aka priced cheaply like the weapon auras) that'd make a piece of armour symmetric. Let me choose if I want the giant pauldron for both shoulders or whatever smaller thing is on the other side for both shoulders, also a try before you buy option like the old cosmetic armours had would be grand.

As others have stated I'd love to see some of, if not all of, the old armor kits reworked and added back into the game. Because honestly, the old ones had alot more selection and were honestly alot better. heh

wanna know something crazy? 2 days ago this shot would have had the same double beard, but it covered the cool design on the armor so I changed it up to the double 'stach since I was LR'ing him anyway. Armor is Deaths Rampart one of the better "recycled" skins in the game (also seen on Parasitic BP and Drow hunters and some random gen mithral plate over the years) just wish it came in a real black with smooth pauldron's

Hey that's topical to this thread! DDO artists: please make a version of this in real black with smooth (and symetrical and smaller) Pauldrons also make them smaller and the thigh pads smaller and more tight to the body mesh.

Has his armor changed over the years?

    More realistic armors.

Less spikes, skulls and no more god-forsaken over-sized shoulder pauldrons.

No more skin tight Spandex suits with armor printed on them.

The BEST armors in this game, appearance wise, are the OLDEST armors.
BONGO FURY - Ghallanda - Thingfish - Wizard, Diuni - Ninja, Gheale - Angel, Dullknife - Tank, Noodlefish - Gimp, Jaquaby - Treacherous and other gimps.

I really like the Crusader armor with the square helmet. There are many interesting armors, robes, and outfits among the NPCs, so making at least a few of those available to the players would be great. The Netherese Shade robe would be one of my first picks.

    Default More colour and variation!

I would love to see more colours!

As some already mentioned, the leathers seem to be a choice between only 2 brownish-grey skins with several bits and bobs added. The best looking are the ones we get as starter gear (is that the same as the CC leathers?). Skirmish leathers look somewhat better, but there is only one of them.

On my oldest toons I had something that looked more like padded cloth (were those padded armors? Bring back the look please - you can get them in the harbor shop) in white with some golden bits etc. added. And we had more chain mails that had long skirts to them etc. Nowadays it seems there is only maybe 2 types of chainmail.

For the looks of medium armour, I like the look of scaled mails, breastplates could be more variants, and I would love it if you brought back banded mail variants (you can buy them in the armour shop in the harbor, I actually got one just for its looks), hide armour etc, just for more varied looks.

For heavy armor I like the look of many of the half plate more than the heavy plate, and agree that it would be nice to have more symmetry and less body suits, although I do understand the shoulders being different, after all its based on one sword arm which has to be protected differently from the shield arm, but if so, it should look less random and more on purpose, but that is no reason to wear only one leg cover or one boot!

The most important part though, less grey/black/brown, add in more colourful bits, especially on named items (yes, those from ToEE do look nice, starting to get somewhere). I saw a great picture of someone in their favourite armor a while ago - it looked like a parrot! Not everything has to be that colourful, but it would be nice to have more blues, yellows, greens etc.

For example my bard wears a demon scale armor (http://ddowiki.com/page/Itememon_Scale_Armor) - with a nice hat with a coloured feather, its perfectly showoff/joker for me. Or the armour from I think the phiarlan chain (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Epic_Fu...e_Ringleader)- I use that bright and shiny armour on my paladin for looks. Those are just examples (both of those suffer a bit from being asymmetrical) of using colour to make it different.

I agree 100%. But, the problem all the armor art are for eberron, maybe it better to have models of armor for 2 worlds

I just thought of another, a while after the thread started, so I don't know if it'll be seen, but here's trying.

The Spider-spun Caparison. It's just the stereotypical ninja outfit.

It's the reason I bought my first Mirror of Glammering (thank you guys again for making that!).

It would be nice to have multiple versions of that.

Listed in my presumed order of ease of design.

    1) Still black, but with various color belts.
    2) White, with various colored belts.
    3) Various colored outfits, with matching facemasks.
    LuKaSu's DDO Wishlist.
SSG, Thanks for a super-fun game!

I'd like to see matching armor and helmets. Possible even shields.

Medium and light armor that doesn’t look like a unitard would be my first choice. Skirmisher’s leathers makes my rogue look like he’s trying out for the Bolshoi Ballet…not horribly heroic, to be honest.

Some varieties of etched celtic helms would be nice, along with some Greek Corinth types (I don’t recall seeing those about as of late). Bucket Helms would also be nice (ala Templars). Or a large helm that covers the back with a mail coif attached to the cheeks to protect the front and neck would be cool.

Also, helms with masks on them – Tolkien’s dwarves often used helms with masks on them for intimidation factor – would be interesting.

I know that the first impulse is to attach horns, wings, or skulls to everything, but sometimes the classic designs are just as cool-looking.

You know what I think is a shame...

lack of warforged love.. seriously. Where the love?

If suggestions are still being taken for this, I would love to see:

Docents that add "Crystal" effects (make the character into a transparent colored crystal)

Docents that "look" like suits of platemail, etc. NOT attachments glued to the body of the character. (as it is in 5th edition, Warforged WEAR ARMOR and dont use docents).

Or.. better yet, simply give docents the ability to take on the appearance of any armor in the game through the use of "Something".

What I would really like to see as far as cosmetic stuff:

Armor that looks like armor, and not textured wetsuits. Armor, especially plate, should NEVER be skintight. Symmetry is a good thing, rather than looking like a hodgepodge of various bits of armor slapped together. The epic emerald guard armor is a good example of this. It looks like actual armor. It has vambraces, greaves, pauldrons, and looks like it's used and rugged. Then you have some of the cosmetic plate armors, that look like you're wearing a skintight wetsuit with a shoulder pad. It looks silly.

Same with leather, chain, and other types of armor. I'd love to see more designs that followed the style of the epic emerald guard, or a lot of the lootgen halfplate armors. Boots, gauntlets, vambraces, etc, that all have polygons that stick out from the arms/legs, to give the gear a feeling of weight, and presence.

    More like this:

    Less like this:

I would like, similarly to most people, to see more armor that looks like armor, and not a re-texture of the basic body model.
I would like to see more symmetry and less gigantic shoulder pieces.
Finally, I would pay A LOT of turbine points to have the armor of the Sun Elves, the Gleaming Plate, available as a cosmetic to other races.
This is my favorite armor in the entire game for paladins and I can't play with it because I don't like the Sun Elves.

Would love to see a cosmetics gear customization shop..
go to one of the armories and show him your armor.. change sides, add shoulder pads.. remove shoulder pads.. change base colour.. trim colour... change sigils, accents..
Pay for cosmetic modifications.. win win..

Shields with a standard or graphic on them (not a skull). Think medival standards.

Weapons that are not so outlandash (pinion) but with cool tweaks like a cammo like bow or rapier with gold hilt.

sometimes the simple is nice if it has something that stands out.
It drives me batty to find a great looking armor with jacked up boots, funky fur accents or the always dreaded backpack. I don't get why everything needs a skull too whose idea was that its not cool. I am a girl so maybe the guys have a different opinion but we like sexy ( those cheer leader kits are not sexy), matching (boots are a must ditch all kits with mismatched shoes), and not so overdone( ie. 5 different color schemes on one outfit. Oh almost forgot the Rambo look we don't know if they are giant cigars or what but can leave those out too. I would love to see something with a cloak in maybe sky blue. A girls version of Elminster`s outfit would be nice or my dream outfit Malicia`s maybe toned down a tad. Mmmm wings naughty or nice wings a girl can dream.
