First off: the imbues in AA aren't supposed to work with bolts, which is why you don't usually see AA repeater builds. There are workarounds, but they're not WAI, so as a general rule I don't recommend builds which are based on bug exploits.
Second: pre-U25, one of the more interesting repeater builds is
Tilomere's pure rgr, which is designed to exploit AA's Doubleshot with DWS's ranged atks and Killer. I think the DPS improvements to Mechanic have overshadowed it, but it's still a nifty idea.
Third: the addition of Harper had me dusting off an old build concept of mine, namely pure arty with racial AA which uses longbows with Manyshot, repeaters the rest of the time. The Doubleshot penalties from Manyshot hurt your repeater DPS, though, so you would only use MS when you really needed the extra burst DPS. I never could get it to perform as well as I wanted, though - APs are too constrained - so it never got past the theorycrafting stage. Then along came the U25 revamp to Mechanics and it seemed rather pointless; frankly, arties are badly in need of a revamp to keep up with all the power creep. Nevertheless, I present it as an instructive exercise.
